Title: Is the railroad bridge over Western Avenue in Chicago in danger?
Post by: roadman65 on March 16, 2021, 08:49:03 PM
I saw a post on Facebook showing the piers carrying a rail line over WesternAvenue at Pershing Road to be looking unstable.someone commented on it from the area and said he believes someday soon a train overhead might bring the bridge to collapse if not a drunk driver below.

I can’t believe the city would allow this, but stranger things have happened.

Now we all know the tricks the google camera can play on images, but that pier on Pershing looks bent out of shape showing structure fatigue.

I'm no expert, but, no, that doesn't look good at all.
