So this is an unfortunate report. Early on the morning of the 29th, I set out on one final clinching trip for the year, planning on picking off several Iowa counties as well as IL 5 in Rock Island and a nice chunk of US 34. I thought all the ice had melted on my driveway but I found the one patch that didn't. I broke my fall with my left arm, which knocked my humerus completely out of its socket and fractured it in two spots. It required surgery and a splint for 6 weeks and even then I might still need a shoulder replacement. Worst part is that I'm left handed, but in any case no driving for me for quite a while. Also having to type one handed so probably significantly less posting for a while too.

So, I'm still far from 100% recovered but x-rays look good and physical therapy is going well so I finally went out to complete the trip that I was going to do in December before my fall.

Got five new counties in southeastern Iowa, which now completes all the Iowa counties that border Illinois. On the way back I got the rest of US 34 in Illinois that I was missing, as well as some new chunks of IL 84, IL 5, IL 92, IL 40, IL 17, IL 29, IL 26, IL 117, IL 116 and IL 251. I was one hour too late to cross the Illinois River on IL 17 before the bridge closed for construction (thus the chunks of IL 29 and IL 26).

I'm sorry it's taken so long to even get to this state of recovery. But I am glad things are getting better for your arm.  I hope you get to 100% soon. Do you have any mob-rule links or TM to show us?
Avatar is the last interesting highway I clinched.

Just got back from a three day, two night trip to Michigan.

The primary focus was visiting the eight remaining counties in Michigan I've yet to visit, all of which were east of I-75 (last one was Presque Isle).

Secondary focus was knocking out a bunch of US highway mileage in the northern LP. Now have US 10, 23 and 131 complete in Michigan. All that's left for me for US highways in the LP is 127 south of Jackson, 23 south of Dearborn, and all of 224.

Picked up a bunch of Interstate and US bannered routes on the way.

Also finished off the entire highway system in Mason, Oceana, Muskegon and Kent counties.

General routing (with some side excursions) was:

Day 1: I-94 east to US 23 north to I-69 east to M-25 north/west to US 10 west to US 127 south to Mt. Pleasant

Day 2: M-20 east to US 23 north to US 31 south to US 131 south to M-72 east to I-75 south to US 127 south to Mt Pleasant

Day 3: US 127 north to US 10 west to US 31 south, to M-20 east to M-120 south to M-46 east to M-52 east to M-91 south to M-44 west to I-96 east to M-50 east to I-69 south to M-60 west to M-311 north to I-94 west

I think you meant to state 223 or 24.

Got out for a 2-day trip this past week. Primary objectives were visiting new counties in Iowa and Missouri, clinching Mississippi River crossings I was missing, clinching I-380, picking up US highway mileage in Iowa, and finishing off US 24 in Illinois.

The route was roughly I-80 to I-280 to Quad Cities, then US 6 to Iowa City, I-380 from end to end, US 20 to Dubuque, US 61 to Maquoketa, IA 64 and US 67 to Clinton and US 30 to Cedar Rapids for the night.

Second day was US 218 to Mt. Pleasant, a variety of highways and county roads to Fort Madison, IL 96 through Nauvoo, US 136 into Keokuk, US 61/US 24 to Quincy, US 24, a variety of highways and county roads to Rushville, US 24/US 136/IL 29 to East Peoria, US 24 to Eureka, and then various routes back home.
