Two words...David Volek

whatever, they won the championship a couple years back.  after you win one, bygones must be let bygones.

seriously, does anyone talk about the '78 Red Sox anymore?  not since 2004...

Oh trust me Jake there are still folks back home that can't bare to hear his name....I still can vividly remember the OT goal in  Game 7 of the Patrick finals...my point is just because a team wins 12 in a row now...doesn't mean anything come playoff time. The 92-93 Pens won 17 straight and folks were talking dynasty after that they never really were close to winning another championship.   A lot of the newer Pens fans don't realize that just because you win one championship doesn't mean the next one is guaranteed.  Like last year and Michael Cammalleri, the 93 Islanders became a hard dose of reality.

If we're gonna only talk about the past, CanesFan, I'm pretty sure 3 is a bigger number than 1....

And it would figure, we've had quite a cold and snowy December here in Western PA (and probably even late November), and a nice little warm up / thaw would have been nice...  But Mother Nature sure could have timed this one better...

I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

It seems almost appropriate that it would rain on the game which is being played in a football stadium.

Now the Steelers just need to clinch the #2 slot in the AFC so the field has a chance to recover before the next game that counts is played there.

Mr_Northside

Well.... if the don't clinch the #2 seed, they'll go in as a wildcard and almost certainly won't host any home playoff games anyway.

If that were the case, and they can't get the Winter Classic done this weekend.... if they have to reschedule it anyway, but there is no more football @ Heinz Field this season (which should be known by 4-5 on Sunday), I don't see why they couldn't just leave the rink up and still have it outdoors instead of at the new arena.

All that said, for the love of all that is holy, the Steelers better friggin' beat the Browns.

That second seed will not only help the field recover, but more importantly give the players time to recover.

The NHL All-Star Game was here in Raleigh this weekend.  The tailgate party my fiance's parents put on for Canes games was featured in Yahoo Sports Puck Daddy Blog.  (cole's grassy knoll - 2/3rds of the way down).

Photos from all three days, Fan Fair, Skills Competition and the Game itself are slowly forthcoming.

Do any of the redemption programs the hockey card makers were having?  I so would do some card trading if possible for any Pens cards. ;)

Finally some good news for Buffalo Sabres fans:  An agreement was reached with Pennsylvania businessman Terry Pegula to purchase the team & related entities at 1 o'clock this afternoon.  There will be a press conference Thursday at noon to discuss the sale.

I am very pleased to see this post includes SIGNS!, ROADS!, and SHUNTING TRAFFIC CONES!

I can attest first-hand to the quality of the tailgate, although I don't remember that much alcohol.

Roadsign199qc, don't tell people what to do, that is an Admin's job...

His posts were two days apart and weren't "BUMP" type posts, so there is no problem here.

On Friday night's game vs. the Philadelphia Flyers, the Hurricanes retired Rod Brind'Amour's #17.

It's rare to see a Hockey team posting about a highway project, but the Penguins are talking about the I-579 Veterans Bridge Preservation Construction Activities on their official site.

I see they just copied the District 11 press release verbatim.
