TN-111 north of Chattanooga.
Naturally. I drove it a lot in the mid-90’s shortly after it opened (much of it was Super 2 except for the two hill climbs which had always been four lanes). This is going up the hill as you’re going south from Dunlap, just before the Scenic View area.

Interesting! Are there any plans to improve the remainder of the route up to Cookeville to a proper four lane divided highway? It appears there are varying sections of 4 lane undivided to border-line city street, then standard four lane divided highway in other areas.
I’m not sure about the big hill climbs north of Dunlap or north of Spencer. North of Dunlap seems like it would be quite the undertaking since there is a sizable drop off next to the southbound lanes. This is probably why they restriped much of it for four lanes sometime around the early 00’s. They were trying to get most of the flatter areas on the big plateau from north of Dunlap all the way through Spencer widened, mainly because it’s easy, but they may have diverted funding elsewhere since traffic volumes through there are still low. As far as north of Livingston up to KY, much of that was made improved two lane in the mid to late 90’s, and it goes through Pickett County (lowest county population in TN), so it’s likely not a high priority at all.
