That being said, here are the peak wind gusts we had on Saturday night: https://fox12weather.files.wordpress.com/2019/01/wind-metro-peak-gusts-today.png

That was a crazy night! Still people up here without power. The return from winter break was delayed in several Seattle-area districts due to power outages.

And then a totally out-of-the-blue severe thunderstorm in the middle of the night, followed by some snow this morning. We've had it all this weekend.

Rain.

:eyebrow:
STOP MAKING ME FEEL JEALOUS :bigass: all we got was some leftover ice. I somehow didn't see the severe thunderstorm warning up there. Begining of term rush I guess is causing me to lose focus.

Got woken up early on Sunday morning by thunderstorms and hail! And for once I was facing the right way to see the skies get lit up (skip to 0:40).

Hahaha don't worry, I didn't get any thunder or snow myself in the Tacoma area (only Bruce actually got anything ^^^). I heard some loud thudding noises Saturday night, but I'm thinking it was branches falling, not thunder.

If "historic radar" were a thing, I would love to know for certain!

51 degrees, which is pretty warm considering it's still before 9 AM. Looking at our third straight day of highs in the 60s, but a cold front coming through today (bringing mostly just clouds, very little rain for once) will change that; after today we may not break 50 again for a week.

Delmarva is expected to see its first accumulating snow this weekend: https://www.wmdt.com/2019/01/potential-winter-weather-this-weekend/

Which means I need to rush up to see the new 301 expressway first thing Saturday morning!  :)

Cold and windy in Atlanta today. It was still in the mid-30s at lunchtime; we eventually struggled our way up to 44 and are now on our way down to the mid-20s for tonight. For comparison, we're currently at what is normally the coldest point of the whole year (December 29 through January 12) with an average high/low of 53/33.

At least it's sunny, though.

About 50F in Fresno tonight but the fog has visibility down to about 500 feet already.  Luckily we have 8-10 MPH winds tomorrow morning which ought to clear things up.

Looking out the kitchen door at our deck at 10:43 tonight. We'll see how it is in the morning for comparison purposes. (The couple of little depressions in the snow between the table near the door and the bigger table are almost certainly where the feral cat we call Fraidy would have walked when she left after coming for food. We were at the hockey game, but we left her bowl under the small table near the door because we knew she'd come begging and there's a good chance she won't be able to get up to our deck for a couple of days if we get a lot of snow.)

Unseasonably warm. It hit 61 in Seattle proper!

Mid 50s down in Corvallis and the same in Portland. Stupid marine layer (although I like the cold).

Same view at 8:49 this morning. It's still snowing.

28°F and snowing here in Dover.  A quick check off the balcony of my apartment gives me 3.5" of snow and counting.

Avoiding the snow this weekend.  Looks like we won't be as lucky next weekend as I hear the polar vortex is about to kick in and a big storm could nail us.

7:41 PM, we came into the kitchen after having dinner in the dining room and look who was waiting.... (lousy focus due to poor lighting and water on the window)
