Here are some odd reports of a 1.7 and a 2.3 quake but they are reported in New York City and Maryland. These quakes that are 1.7 and 2.3 would never be reported in California.

But on a more serious note 62 people are reported dead so far in Ishikawa prefecture after a 7.5 quake hit.

Seems that deadly runway incursion in Tokyo is connected to the quake as one of the planes was carrying relief supplies bound for the affected areas.

Apparently a lot of my friends felt that earthquake. The guys on the 7th floor of my dorm were freaking out. I, of course, slept through it.

Note the 9 deaths in this article are confirmed at the time of writing but this is currently a rescue operation in Taiwan.

QuoteHUALIEN, Taiwan, April 3 (Reuters) - Taiwan's biggest earthquake in at least 25 years killed nine people on Wednesday and injured more than 900, while 50 workers travelling in minibuses to a hotel in a national park were missing. Some buildings tilted at precarious angles in the mountainous, sparsely populated county of Hualien, near the epicentre of the 7.2 magnitude quake, which struck just offshore at about 8 a. m. (0000 GMT) and triggered massive landslides. Linda Chen, 48, said her apartment in downtown Hualien city had been so badly damaged in an earlier earthquake in 2018 that they had to move house. But her new apartment block was damaged too in the latest earthquake. "We worry the house could collapse anytime. We thought we had already experienced it once in Hualien and it would not hit us again, because God has to be fair," she said.

Depending on the reports 4.7 or 4.8 earthquake in New Jersey.

My colleagues in Lower Manhattan said they definitely noticed the quake and that "engineers" have pronounced the building safe (seems like a very quick determination for a quake that was less than an hour ago).

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"

People near me in northern Delaware felt the New Jersey quake, but I didn't for some reason.
