US Highway concurrencies

Was just wondering, while sitting at US 183 & US 290, which two highways have the total longest concurrencies with each other (total mileage including if they run together more than once).  62 & 180 have to be up there near the top.

I would assume 20 and 26 are close too, almost 300 miles there of concurrency over three separate stretches.

US 14-16 about 215 miles

looks like US 60-70 used to be in the 425 mile ballpark

On a map, the US 62/412 concurrencies look lengthy.

US 6 and US 34 has to be quite lengthy, with concurrencies in Colorado, Nebraska and Illinois.

US 79/80 seems pretty lengthy, not in distance, but time... you go through the downtown of Shreveport and Bossier City, sit in traffic for a little while, and it's smooth sailing until you get to Minden, where you go through another downtown before the routes split.

US 67/167 is around 65 miles. from Little Rock to Bald Knob.

Sorry for bumping but I really need to know what's the longest US concurrency?? Like for a single concurrency, past and present. And was 60-70 longer than 6-50?

6/50 were concurrent from Ely NV to Grand Junction CO from the early 1950s to mid 1970s, mostly along what is now US 6. That is somewhere in the neighborhood of 470 miles.

Co-worker that I was giving a ride saw this and was surprised to see US-12 in this road. Thinks of it as Rand Rd heading NW to WI, and wasn't aware it goes to MI around city, etc.

Also, another reason Chicagoans call most major roads by name is the numbers change and/or concurrencies.

25-42-127 on the Kentucky side of Cincinnati, 27-52-127 across the river.

There's a brief 31W-60-150 in Louisville.

11-41-64-72 and 11-41-64-76 in Chattanooga.

Fun fact: The 11-64 and 41-76 pairs run concurrently twice. The first time, 11 and 41 are wrong-way concurrencies (one goes north, the other goes south). The second time, they both go in the same direction.

Kentucky has some decently long concurrencies, but nothing to approach historic 6-50 levels. 23-119 and 23-460 are probably the longest, with 42-127 and 31E-150 also chiming in.

Historically, we had 60-641 from Marion to Henderson.

Maybe not a major metro but Beaumont Texas with US 69/US 96/US 287.

Something that shocks me sometimes is how many of the major routes in San Antonio and Dallas are concurrent. Especially San Antonio. Interstate 10/US 90. I-10/US 87. I 37/US 281. Interstate 610/SH 130/SH 16. I-10/I-35/US 90/US 87

There's a 5 US highways on one concurrency in Indianapolis for a short distance I can think of: US 31/36/40/52/421.

Georgia has two four-way US concurrencies in Atlanta: 19/41/78/278 and 23/29/78/278. There is also 1/25/78/278 in Augusta, 29/78/129/441 in Athens, 1/23/82/84 in Waycross, and maybe another somewhere else I'm forgetting?

The unique thing about these is that they are all signed (except maybe the one in Athens where signage is not great). The 5-way US concurrency in Indianapolis becomes a bit less fun when you find out it's only signed as I-465.

WI's longest is 40 miles: US-18 and US-151 between Madison and Dodgeville.

Longest for each New England state:

CT: US 6/44 7 mi (not including the additional 1/2 mile one on the Bulkeley Bridge).  Was US 7/202 until the Brookfield Bypass broke it into 2 shorter ones.  Historically, was US 6/202, which once stretched from Brewster, NY to Farmington.

RI: US 44/1A 2.4 mi (US 6 multiplexes for part of it, all on I-195)

MA: US 7/20 7.4 mi between Pittsfield and Lenox

NH: US 4/202 21.1 mi (some of it on I-393)

VT: US 2/7 9.6 mi

ME: (not including US 1A silent concurrencies with its parent) Amazingly, US 2/201A at only 5.4 mi.

MN's longest is US 14/61 from Winona to the Wisconsin border between La Crosse and La Crescent, about 37 miles.

Montana really doesn't have a lot of long concurrencies between US highways. The longest I can find is US 87/89 between Armington Junction and Great Falls, which is 23 miles.

Historically, however, the concurrency of US 10/312 between Miles City and Billings stretched 145 miles. This lasted for about 20 years until US 312 was decommissioned in the late 70's, followed in the mid 80's by the decommissioning of US 10 in Montana.

US 15/501 in NC is a long one; about 100 miles. Even better is that in the Durham/Chapel Hill area its know commonly as "15-501". the only other concurrency I know thats referred to by both numbers is NC 24/27. Coincidentally, that concurrency is also about 100 miles long, AND it multiplexes with US 15/501 for a few miles.

The longest US route concurrency in WV is US 33 and US 119 between Spencer and Buckhannon at 81 miles. There is a brief overlap with US 19 in downtown Weston, plus both overlap with US 48 between I-79 and Buckhannon. US 48 also has lengthy concurrencies with US 33 and US 219 east of there, and US 219 has a long concurrency of its own with US 250.

Michigan:

US-2/US-41:  36.5 miles between Powers and Rapid River.
US-2/US-141:  32.5 miles between Crystal Falls and Iron Mountain (includes the middle portion in Wisconsin).
US-23/US-223:  7.7 miles between Ottawa Lake and the OH state line (ends 1/2 mile south of there).
US-10/US-31:  4.5 miles between Ludington and Scottville.
US-10/US-127:  4 miles through Clare.
