What Was the Interstate You Were On Least Recently?

funny enough, since our only major road trip we took to the grand canyon (from louisville via birmingham) I have taken every single interstate in some part except for I 240 around okc. I pretty much forgot about that since the only reason we were ever on it was because I 40 was closed downtown because bridges were out in 1994.

just to show how often I've used parts of the same highways, the next least recent interstate I've been on is I 72, which was in 2007.

Probably I-39 near Madison.  We were on choir tour in the spring of 1977.  And I don't believe I've been on I-39 since.

There may have been an older instance on an Interstate in or near Florida when traveling with my family as a child or teen, but I don't remember.

I-39 wasn't a thing until 1986.

For 2dis, I'll have to say I-4, which I haven't been on since the early or mid 90's (can't remember which year exactly).

For 3dis, it's probably either I-195 or I-395 in Miami.

I've been in Florida many, many times over the years, but I've just never managed to drive on any of those roads recently.

Maybe Eastern I-76.  I took a baseball field trip in August of 2008 and took I-76 from I-81 to Philadelphia, including driving back and forth from Philadelphia to my Aunt's house in Malvern, PA.  Then on the same trip I took I-70 from Baltimore, up to I-76 to Pittsburgh.  I haven't been on I-76 since.

OK, then it would probably be somewhere in NY or NJ while on tour in 1978.  Not I-95 though; I've been on that in MA, NH and ME at a later date.

Besides Hawaii, it might be I-605 in the LA area for me, last visited in 2007.

For mainland 2dis, I'd guess I-66 in Virginia (2016).

...Then on the same trip I took I-70 from Baltimore Beltway...

It's close enough for me to call it Baltimore.
Most of us call it Baltimore as it's in the metro area, except one very special forum user that wants to "punish" I-70 for not being completed to I-95 by removing signage for Baltimore.

2di: I-75 in the Tampa area for one exit in 1986.  I-4 is a close 2nd (one day later).

3di: This one is interesting.  At one time, it was former I-495 (now I-95) in ME in 1986 when it was unnumbered altogether.  I-H201 in 1988 could also qualify, but it was not signed as such.  The winner is I-395 in DC in 1998, but with an explanation.  That day, I took the 3rd street tunnel section (now I-195) to 395 South to go to the Pentagon, then came back on 395 North and stayed on the current I-395 that used to be I-695, but that section was unnumbered.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

That "very special user" hasn't been active since August 13, although two other "very special users" have done their best to fill in the gap (one of them got banned, too).

Hmm... probably Interstate 24 for 2dis...

and 220 in Shreveport for 3dis
I love freeways and roads in any state but Texas will always be first in my heart

TheHighwayMan3561

Think it's I-95, last time was 2007 though I drove the Florida's Turnpike section that runs alongside I-95 in 2019. For Interstates I haven't either driven or laid eyes on least recently, I think it's I-91 in CT.

Hot Rod Hootenanny

I'm pretty sure my least recently would be in this order...
I-495 (DC)
I-395 (DC)
I-66 (DC)
I-270 (Maryland)
All four of these I was last on back in the Spring of 1989 as part my school's annual trip to Washington D.C.
Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

Possibly I-664 from a trip to Virginia Beach in the early 70's. Maybe some existed in NYC during the 64-65 World's Fair, although we probably used the subway for most trips.

paulthemapguy

Probably I-76 (w).  A family road trip took us to Rocky Mountain National Park when I was 12, so in 2002 I think.  I've been to Colorado again in 2012 but we came in from the west on I-70 and left Colorado to the north on I-25 into Wyoming.
Avatar is the last interesting highway I clinched.

I haven't driven on I-57 in 5 years, and used to visit cousins in Champaign in the 80's. On 290 and 294 almost daily. 90 on weekends.

I've spent the last few nights going through them in my head before falling asleep. Not counting 3dis and roads I've never been on, mine is I-96, which I was last on (not driving, was a kid) in 1989. 2nd place is 76 West in 1998, followed by I-82 about 20 hours later on the same trip.

skluth

I traveled a lot of the US in the 70s, so I'm trying to recall which highways I haven't been on since then. I'm thinking probably I-84 and I-86 in Idaho in 1978. I'm not going to bother with 3DIs because honestly I don't recall which ones I may or may not have been on back then. I haven't been to Hawaii since 1981 so I haven't been on I-H201 since then. I'm sure there's a few 3DIs from the 70s but that was a long time ago.

2di's clinched: 44, 66, 68, 71, 72, 74, 78, 83, 84(east), 86(east), 88(east), 96

Highways I've lived on M-43, M-185, US-127

Least recently?  I don't think I've been on I-4 in about 35 years.

Probably I-4. Florida is the state I've visited the least recently, as well. I haven't been since 2009.
I love my 2010 Ford Explorer.

I-15, 1986.  Was on a tour out west and we went from Las Vegas to San Diego on it.  I would have said I-29 but I've been on it in 2011, and I don't know if we ever used I-29 in North Dakota in the 70's.
