Title: TX: Vintage Denton Co Highway Pics uploaded to Portal TO TX History
Post by: Brian556 on May 02, 2014, 12:41:26 AM
A collection of vintage photographs have been recently uploaded to the Portal To Texas History. They are the Dallas Water Utilities Collection; but, interestingly, include a lot of pics from Denton County.

There are several shots of the old Fishtrap Crossing of the north end of Lake Dallas (predecessor to Lake Lewisville) before SH 24 (now US 380) was built through there.

There are also several shots of the SH 24 Lake Dallas Spillway Bridge.

There is a shot of the one lane Santa Fe RR underpass on Jim Cristal Rd (Old SH 39/OLD SH24) at FM 156. It even has a state highway marker in it.

This is a very interesting collection.
