So here I am looking at the local news, and I see this article here: https://wgntv.com/news/wgn-news-now/two-illinois-cities-among-2022s-best-for-singles/

Since I'm currently a lonesome loser and I love taking Internet bait, I decide to click on it. Now take a guess who's study they used on this article?

Entenmann's Bakery, due to the relationship with BIMBO?

sorry, couldn't resist

That will be Victoria's Secret.
No, no. You need to think AARoads related. I'll give you a hint: someone who loves Virginia and hates Pittsburgh.

You know the Sharpie meme from a few years ago where Sharpies can rewrite reality? Well, it's true. I was in Market Basket today. The clearance section had a whole bunch of things, one of which was a package of 48 forks marked X instead of having a price because many of the forks were missing; I estimated that 1/3 were there. This item normally goes for $2.29 normally and $1.69 when it's on the clearance rack due to a damaged box. (Market Basket clearance procedure is simply to put sharpie on the barcode so it won't scan and then to write the price on the box, unlike Stop & Shop where there are yellow stickers that have to be created.) I picked up the box hoping to ask if I could buy it for 50¢ at the register, figuring it would be accepted because from the store's viewpoint, the store receiving 50¢ is better than receiving nothing. Immediately before getting into the checkout line, I saw the assistant manager, with a badge that said 27 years, so I asked him. He simply got out his sharpie and put the number 50 on it. It worked, although I had to tell the cashier that most of the forks missing because something over 75% off is normally suspicious.

The box had 22 of the 48 forks in it, more than I thought.

During the last election here there was some campaign ad saying such and such candidate's policies were making Oklahoma an awful place to live, and they cited Wallethub as a source for that. (I didn't post it here, for obvious reasons.)

Incumbent or not? (If it wasn't the incumbent, it would be a straight-up lie, as someone who hasn't been elected wouldn't have had their policies enacted.)

I don't remember the exact details (I tend to not get my political opinions from campaign ads) but I believe it was a PAC-funded ad against the incumbent.

I heard that song on the radio on the way back from Thanksgiving and it caused me to look up the provenance of Victoria's Secret. The song, interestingly enough, has it right–the old man in Ohio is probably 85-year-old Les Wexner, of Columbus, who bought the chain in 1982 from founders Roy and Gaye Raymond. Roy Raymond's original vision of the store was as a place for men to purchase lingerie for their partners, after he had negative experiences with employees when attempting to buy lingerie for his wife at a traditional department store. Wexner reorganized the store into the familiar female-targeted chain that it is today.

Don't forget the official portrait of Alan Ivan Torrington–which, among art enthusiasts, is colloquially called "the surreal AI" (to distinguish it from the other, more famous, ASCII art portrait).

Discord just switched their font recently to something that's basically Clearview. Ugly, curled lowercase Ls, etc. They call it "GG Sans" after the url discord.gg; do they really want to be compared to Comic Sans?

I don't mind it. Also, remember that "Sans"  in both cases refers to the fonts' sans-serif nature.
