Furthest-apart pairs of freeway exit signs for the same town on the same freeway

I was just thinking about a 2003 drive to Denver, Colorado, in which I remember seeing a sign for the town of Kiowa, at Exit 352 for CO 86 just west of Limon. After 48 miles, there was another reference to Kiowa at Exit 304 in Bennett, in the eastern outskirts of Denver, at an exit leading to a county road. There were no mentions of Kiowa in between; in reality, Kiowa is at the intersection of the two roads accessed by those exits, and is located rather far off I-70.

That has to be the record (or at least close to it) for the greatest distance between two exits on the same freeway with signage referring to the same town. What are some of the other far-apart pairs you've seen throughout the country? (These have to be actual exit signs for towns not located along the freeway; that way, it rules out merely listing pull-through signage for control cities.) I'm eager to find out more!

NYC on I-90 WB  Exit 78 in MA, I-87 South split in Albany (about 115 miles)

New Haven on I-84 WB in CT.  Exit 57 (CT 15) and Exit 11 (CT 34).  49 miles apart.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

Indianapolis on I-64 at its interchanges with I-70 and I-65: 260 miles (will be much shorter once I-69 NB is signed for Indy at Evansville)

Louisville on I-70 at its interchanges with I-64 and I-65: 240 miles

I-81, I-88, and I-90 form a triangle where this happens on all three routes.

I-81 mentions Albany at I-88 and I-90, 74 miles apart.
I-90 mentions Binghamton at I-88 and I-81, 124 miles apart.
I-88 mentions Syracuse at both termini, but only in the terminating direction, so I'm not sure if that counts. If it does, it's 117 miles.

And for I-84, Albany is mentioned at both I-87 and I-90, 140 miles apart. But like my prior example, it's mentioned at I-90 in the terminating direction only (eastbound), so I'm not sure if it counts.

On both directions of I-94 in Michigan, Lansing is a main control city at I-69 (Marshall) and I-696, about 121 miles apart.

On both directions of I-75, Lansing is a main control city at I-96 and I-69, about 70 miles apart.

The farthest I could find in Colorado is Colo Spgs along I-70 at CO-470 and US 24. A distance of 99 miles

Takumi

73 miles for Norfolk on I-95 southbound. I-295 (exit 84) and US 58 (exit 11).

Olive Garden must be stopped.  I must stop them.

Don't @ me. Seriously.

Orlando is mentioned on I-75 first at the Florida Turnpike in Wildwood and in Mango, FL for I-4.  Total distance of 65 miles.

However it may be longer if the Sawgrass Expressway Exit near Davie, FL is still using Orlando for its control city NB as its 244 miles apart from I-4.

Then on I-70 in both Ohio and Indiana have Cincinnati at I-74 now near Indy and at I-71 in Columbus, OH. over 180 miles apart.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

I-675 is in between and uses Cincinnati as a control city.

Also, I-70 has Cleveland for northbound I-71 in Columbus and I-77 in Cambridge.

Further west along I-70, I-55 in St. Louis, I-57 in Effingham, and I-65 in Indy all point north to Chicago.

I-5 exiting to Fresno from CA99 and CA33/CA152 which are 182 miles apart.

JayhawkCO

I-10 exiting to Dallas from I-20 and I-45 which are 480 miles apart.

Baltimore along I-76/PA Turnpike: 81 miles from I-70 east at Breezewood to I-83 at Harrisburg West.

Charleston (WV) along I-81 in VA: 119 miles from I-77 north at Wytheville to I-64 west at Lexington.

73 miles for Norfolk on I-95 southbound. I-295 (exit 84) and US 58 (exit 11).

Isn't Norfolk also signed at I-64 east (exit 75)? That would cut the distance down to 64 miles.
"Now, what if da Bearss were to enter the Indianapolis 5-hunnert?"
"How would they compete?"
"Let's say they rode together in a big buss."
"Is Ditka driving?"
"Of course!"
"Then I like da Bear buss."
"DA BEARSSS BUSSSS"

I don't think the intention is necessarily the exits with the farthest distance with no other indications of the town in between. I think it's just the widest span. OP, feel free to correct me, otherwise a lot of the answers here probably can be nixed (including my I-10 example which I believe is the largest at the moment). Edit - Actually looks like there aren't any other references to Dallas on I-10 in between. I-35 only lists Austin. So I still think my 480 miles example leads.

Also, as a grammar nazi for the thread, we should be using 'farther' not 'further'.

farther : distance :: further : extent

I was going to mention this alongside Louisville for I-70 but then realized that I-57 is in between St Louis and Indy, which shortens the distance. Still about 140 miles between I-57 and I-65 though.

My question was about the furthest distances between two consecutive references to the same city/town along a given route (as I alluded to when mentioning the Kiowa, Colorado example).

Gotcha. So intermediate references do matter. If we can use non-freeways (you used 'freeway' in the subject line, so wasn't sure if we could include other roads), there are other good examples too. AK1 turning off to Fairbanks from both AK2 and AK3 280 miles apart, etc.

Orangeburg, South Carolina along I-95 probably doesn't count but is still an interesting example.  Exit 42 for US-21 (Yemassee/Orangeburg) is about 55 miles from Exit 97 for US-301/US-15 (Orangeburg) in Santee.  But if I recall correctly, Orangeburg is marked only on the northbound BGS for Exit 42 and only on the southbound BGS for Exit 97.

I specifically remember South Carolina when I think of this thread because of the many similar situations using both I-95 and I-26 (again, Orangeburg being the most extreme with almost 58 miles between I-95 Exit 42 and I-26 Exit 154).  I would have guessed this to be a tad shorter than along I-95 proper, since you are cutting off the angle on I-26.

Rankings
I-10 Dallas: 480 miles
I-44 Kansas City: 273 miles
I-64 Indianapolis: 260 miles
I-70 Louisville: 240 miles
I-80 Detroit: 206 miles
I-64 Nashville: 190 miles
I-5 Fresno: 182 miles
I-80 Denver: 148 miles
I-84 Albany: 140 miles
I-70 Chicago: 140 miles
I-90 Binghamton: 124 miles
I-94 Lansing: 121 miles
I-81 Charleston: 119 miles
I-88 Syracuse: 117 miles
I-70 Wichita: 115 miles
I-65 Cincinnati: 110 miles
I-65 Saint Louis: 110 miles
I-90 New York City: 100 miles

Let me know if I missed any >=100 miles.

Once I-69 along the south and east legs of I-465, there will be signs for Louisville at both I-64 and I-65, 146 miles apart
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Two more I can think of

- I-65 Cincinnati at I-71 and I-74: 110 miles
- Not sure if this would count, but at I-64 EB's interchange with I-57, there's a mention of I-24 and Nashville. If so, it would be 190 miles between that and the next mention of Nashville, at I-65 in Louisville.

Jim

I'm thinking the I-90 NYC one is more like 100 miles, since New York is mentioned at B1.

And even after you clarified, they continue to miss the point.
