I mentioned this over in the Pacific Southwest board (where I hang out), but I figured there might be broader interest. Tom Fearer (Max R. here) and I have started a podcast on California Highways. The first season will be background on the highway system, and then we'll go route by route through every numbered highway in the state.

Please spread the word. You can find the podcast at its forever home at https://www.caroutebyroute.org/ , on anchor.fm at https://anchor.fm/caroutebyroute, or in almost any podcaster app or directory (Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, etc.). I'd love to get the listenership up for the first episode before I release the second episode next weekend.

If you want to get an idea what we are talking about, here's the outline for the first two seasons:

Much of the Season 1 podcasts contain information that is more of general interest.  Some examples from current recording include discussion about the Good Roads Movement, Auto Trails, US Route System and Federal Aid programs.
