A burger sounds good.  Too bad everything's closed now.

Not if you live in Texas.

I think you misunderstood. Everything was closed because it was so late, not because of Covid.

Can't you "eat great, even late" at Wendy's in Seattle?

I thought a decent number of places closed at 11 PM. (Unless I'm getting confused with time zones...)

Wendy's drive thrus is open until at least midnight. Most McDonald's drive thrus are 24 hours. Some IHOPs and Denny's are still 24 hours.

The post was at 1:25 AM our time, which would have been only 10:25 PM Pacific Time.

Yes. I'm saying things should have still been open.

And I still have no idea what Texas has to do with anything.

Presumably, Texas is the generic state where "everything is open"!
Also presumably, that was a misinterpretation of what was actually meant:

But a lot of restaurants in Texas are still not open for dine-in.  I specifically remember Texas shut down restaurant seating in the middle of March 2020, because we were on our way back from Mexico and had to do drive through our whole time in Texas.

Is there really that much difference between Washington and Texas when it comes to restaurants during this phase of COVID?

Everything was closed in late March 2020. Everywhere in 2021 is more open than anywhere, even Texas, March 2020.

Re: Texas restaurant dine-in status

Most restaurants right now are open for dine-in. A lot opened in the past couple months now that cases are low. I believe most restaurants were not closed by government order, but rather by company policy or the manager's decision. Independent table service joints have probably been open for dine-in for almost a year now.

It's morning now, but at the time of your post a McDonald's drive-thru was probably open ;-)

Fuck the McDonald's drive through.
