The poll seems pretty pointless with only 3 people having voted. Just pick a weekend.

Yeah that's true actually. I am going to decide on a weekend this Sunday when I close the poll.

I'm for sure out in Florida January the 13th to the 19th if anyone happens to be in the area or wants to do something adhoc.  I'm looking at focusing on some road related stuff primarily in Tampa and Orlando but I'll probably swing up to Jacksonville for a day.

What's the difference between a "meet" and a "mini meet"?

Always felt a mini meet was much more spontaneous and geared more toward people already local to the meet area, which this would not fall under.

Good.  I just invited a fuckload of people on Facebook.  Thinking about making the trip myself as I haven't been to Jacksonville but once, and then just passing through.

A "mini meet" tends to focus on one particular site, maybe two at most, and is less formal, less organized, etc. The last mini meet I held was years ago, to walk on the then-unopened US 1/9 Truck overpass when it was already snow covered. Obviously that's not the foundation for a great meet, but several people came out just to share lunch and check it out in person. The whole thing took 4 hours, meal included. Nowadays, you can't really predict what happens - one St. Louis meet became huge while they were typically annual or biennial affairs with modest participation otherwise.

A friend and I are planning a trip to Key West in early May, so will probably pass due to proximity to that.

I'm having trouble getting a plane to take me from Delaware to Jacksonville.
My availability for this meet is now iffy.  :poke:
Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

That's because our airport is small despite the fantastic ratings.

I'm gonna keep this on the radar.  Been a few years since I even attended a meet, and Jacksonville is only 4.5 hours away.

I don't want to have to take a connecting flight through Midway for this road event....just saying.

Dont forget the First Coast Expressway!  Then some might of not done the eastern leg of I-295 nor FL 9B since they opened.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Maybe it's just me, but flying to a road meet kind of seems like halfway missing the point.

Not at all. I'd rather spend my time at a new location than driving out and back on roads I know.

Take a different route. (see how easy that is?) :)
