That definitely looks right, though we should wait for Bruce to confirm.
"You know, you never have a guaranteed spot until you have a spot guaranteed."
—Olaf Kolzig, as quoted in the Washington Times on March 28, 2003,
commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"
—Kolzig, to the same reporter a few seconds later.

Is it the St. Georges Bridge in Delaware, which carries US 13 over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal?

It is indeed, with the concrete barrier and bridge deck at the bottom belonging to the William V. Roth, Jr. Bridge on DE-1.

My next entry:

A clue:  If this bridge would be out of service, part of its country would be cut off (via road travel) from the rest of the country.

plain, you got it.  I need to find harder to guess bridges.  Or maybe host the pics somewhere to foil those who might peek at the URL ...

Your turn!

The Michigan diamond on the mounted BGS is what gave the location away for me (I did not give a guess as I do not wish to post a bridge).
