Which 50,000 watt clear channel AM radio station has the most famous studios?

Coming up in December WJR will be celebrating 90 years of broadcasting from the Fisher Building. The Fisher Building opened in 1928 and WJR is one of the buildings oldest tenants. Originally the studios were on the 22nd floor but now WJR occupies the 8th and 9th floors of the building. After seeing that WBZ moved from their Soldiers Field Road studios which I thought was an iconic location I wondered if anyone had a famous studio address.

Part of WJR's original lease with the Fisher Building is that they had to make on air mention of the Fisher Building which is why their top of the hour jingle mentions the golden tower of the Fisher Building which has been made famous.

What other 50,000 watt blowtorch has a famous studio location?

WTIC in Hartford used to have a place called Broadcast House on Constitution Plaza in downtown Hartford when Travelers Insurance owned them and WTIC (now WFSB) TV.  When Travelers sold all stations (the TV station to the Washington Post and radio to a local investor), the TV station flipped call letters and the radio stations (TIC AM and FM) moved their studios to the 19th floor of the Gold Building, as pictured here


Yours truly did a call-in radio show there one night as part of winning a contest.

When Infinity Broadcasting (later CBS and now Radio.com/Entercom) bought the TIC's, they moved the studios of all of the local stations they owned (including WRCH, which broadcast from Radio Park in Farmington, home to the flagship location of CT School of Broadcasting) out to another location in Farmington in an office park.

WZMX-FM 93.7 (Hot 93.7 Hip Hop/R&B) of Hartford is also one of the Entercom Hartford stations. They all have their studios in Farmington. Back when the legendary Bob Steele was with us, he did his show from (mostly) One Financial Plaza, a.k.a. The Gold Building.

I've only been on the 19th floor once ever in my whole life. I won a pair of WWF/E wrestling tickets for a show in 1993. I had to go up there to claim them.

KNX Los Angeles they used to be based at Columbia Square when CBS owned KNX Radio in Los Angeles. It was the most legendary studio in Los Angeles at the time. But that was until KNX Moved to Miracle Mile a decade ago and Entercom took over the old CBS Radio affiliates.
