"Michigan Font" returns on new signs

During a "recent" sign upgrade along M-77 between Blaney Park and Grand Marais, I noticed each of the new "DO NOT PASS" and "PASS WITH CARE" signs utilized the old "Michigan Font".   This is the wider version (there is a narrow version, too) which is similar to FHWA Series D, but can be easily distinguished when the letter S is present or any number between and including 2 through 9.   

This particular sign was on the NB side near at the wayside a little south of Germfask.

All of the "NO PASSING ZONE" signs on this upgrade use the increasingly standard convention of two metal posts instead of one wooden post.   However, this minor disappointment was more than offset by seeing new "Michigan Font".   Well done, M-DOT!

Two other items of note: 1) at the junction with H-42, there is no mention of H-42 (only County Road 436) along M-77, however the H-42 shield is present on EB County Rd. 436 (while two miles up the road in Germfask, a H-44 shield is present along M-77 at the junction with Ten Curves Rd./Old M-98); 2) the pentagonal shields along US-2 at the junction with H-33 still only have a "33" in them and not the "H".
