Scott/Dave - I noticed the sucrose changeover too last time I saw a bottle and noticed a taste change.  I actually prefer the corn syrup Coke; I know I'm in a minority.

Alp's can get the sugary stuff and doesn't want it.  While most others want it and can't get it.

Hey Alps, does the Cherry Coke also have the sucrose?

You know what, come on up here and find out.  I don't drink soda for the most part.

Apparently ABARTA is headquartered not too far from me, right off the Allegheny Valley Expressway in RIDC Park.

I guess I just need to take Exit 10 to complain that they need to extend the use of sugar to their home area, since the Coke in the regular beverage aisle has HFCS.

Since High Fructose Corn Syrup comes from corn, the Ethanol boon may make switching back to sugar economical.  Of course, you can make ethanol from sugar cane and sugar beet plants as well...

The only reason sugar is so expensive in this country is a crazy tariff on imported sugar:

HFCS in soft drinks is as much to do with the masses corn subsidies making a surplus of cheap corn, if not more, than is to do with the high cost of sugar.

<sarcasm>Silly me, I was applying the free market dynamic of supply and demand to HFCS prices.</sarcasm>

IMHO, with all the subsidies and tariffs on food products, any resemblance  between what we pay and a "free market price" is purely coincidental.

At work I drink mostly water simply because I can get it for free (filtered tap from the break room). Elsewhere... I will confess to being a diet soda addict (no real preference on Pepsi vs Coke). Although, I have at times been known to order regular soda when in public for the sake of avoiding conspicuity.

The real killer, though, is my breakfast beverage choice: I'm nearly 23 years old and I drink chocolate milk.

I'm 24 and I think chocolate milk is awesome :)

My favorite drink, though, is Mtn Dew. Not for the high caffeine, though. I love the taste too much...

Mexican hot chocolate FTW.  But I'd really like to be able to get it without checking myself for bullet holes.

Double Dutch chocolate milk, which they sell at Wawa. THAT is what I call milk.

Only if the strawberry flavor is natural.

Artificial strawberry flavor is a Hoover.

I picked tap water, and soda since I didn't see a "pop" choice listed :D.

Kum & Go has a gimmicky contest a couple Summers ago: Soda or Pop? Red and blue colored cups: Blue was Soda, Red was Pop. Buying either cup was a "vote" for that name. In the end, they produced a Purple cup: Soda Pop.
