Super-2s/Unused 4-lane ROWs

(1/7) > >>

deathtopumpkins:
What remaining super-2s do you know of? Most around here seem to have been widened over the years...

And how many of those have an unused ROW for becoming 4-lanes?

I'll start with VA-171 in Poquoson and York County, VA. It is a 2-lane expressway with several signals, a speed limit of 55, and a passing zone for most of it. It has a 4-lane ROW.
Then there's US-258/VA-10 in Smithfield, VA. It's a 2-lane freeway with a jersey barrier in the median for a short portion, a speed limit of 45, and no at-grade intersections. It only has a visible 4-lane ROW for a very short portion.

DrZoidberg:
Is Maryland 90 near Ocean City still a super 2?

Also, I think US 51 near Tomahawk, WI was at one point, though it may now be upgraded for a future I-39.

flaroads:
I know the Polk Parkway (TOLL Florida 570) has a super-2 section between Exit 18 (Old Dixie Highway) and Exit 24 (Interstate 4).  Construction to upgrade it to a full four-lane limited access is taking place and should be complete late 2009 or 2010.  The right-of-way is already bought so there will be no issues with acquiring additional land to build it to capacity.

Alex:
Three that I originally saw as super twos have since been twinned. They were U.S. 15 on the Gettysburg bypass, U.S. 15 near Tioga Dam, and Pennsylvania 147 south of Interstate 80/180.

A part of the Spaulding Turnpike is still a super-two in New Hampshire, thats all I can think of on short notice.

Bryant5493:
South Fulton Parkway (also signed, on certain portions, as SR 14 Conn., US 29 Alt./SR 14 Alt. and SR 70), just west of its four lane end.
