I-12 ramp meters work underway

Work on I-12's ramp meter system is now underway between Essen Lane and the Walker/Port Vincent exit. The signals will send motorists onto I-12 in four-second intervals from 6-10 am westbound and 2-7 pm eastbound.

The first signals should be up and running at the I-12 West on-ramp at Essen Lane by the start of June.

Would make more sense to begin system operation as a whole instead of in pieces.
