Quote from: Alex on Today at 10:03:43 AMUntil there is something formal announced about a name change for a replacement bridge, let's move on from that speculation, Francis Scott Key's legacy, and also philosophical concepts involving demographics.

Half an hour later....

Quote from: RobbieL2415 on Today at 10:34:21 AMRename it to the George Herman Ruth Bridge.

The Babe was born in Baltimore.

Not sure whether that warrants a  :-D or a  :banghead: .
More like a :pan:

But as Alex said, there's no word on when the new bridge will have a different name, so let's just assume that it'll also be called the Key Bridge. After all, President Biden did say they were going to rebuild it, so there we have it.

I once got to touch an I-105 shield when that freeway was completed 30 years ago.

Then right after that study, they installed left turn lanes.

If those plans are still alive, Alt 1 looks obviously better because would take less work to turn it into a full interchange when the time comes. And a flyover seems de trop for those meager traffic levels.

Fake FL 41 (for what should really be US 41):

More sections of the 400-series highways will get a speed limit bump up to 110 km/h.

The full list of areas where speed limits are set to increase is set out below:

Highway 401:

At Tilbury, extending the existing 110 km/h zone further east by 7 km
From Hwy 35/115 to Cobourg (approximately 35 km)
From Colborne to Belleville (approximately 44 km)
From Belleville to Kingston (approximately 66 km)
From Hwy 16 to the Quebec boundary (approximately 107 km)

Highway 403:
From Woodstock to Brantford (approximately 26 km)
From Brantford to Hamilton (approximately 14.5 km)

Highway 406 from Thorold to Welland (approximately 13 km)
Highway 416 from Hwy 401 to Ottawa (approximately 70 km)
Highway 69 from Sudbury to French River (approximately 60 km)

Quote from: vdeane on Today at 12:53:43 PMAnd what of the part north of this interchange?  There's even a traffic light.
That signalized intersection will (eventually) be replaced by an interchange. I was talking about the part from US 95's East Junction with I-40 south through Wikieup to just north of Wickenburg.
You mentioned the whole corridor at the end of your post and seemed to imply that this interchange was the only thing preventing I-11 from being signed from I-40 to the Nevada border.  To get that finished, they would also need to address the stuff north of I-40, and quite a few more things to the south, not "just" the ones you listed.

Quote from: ilpt4u on Today at 08:29:49 PMWould AASHTO or FHWA consider not giving final approval to sign the final segment of 69 being constructed now and also not along 465 until the mileage is fixed?

AASHTO isn't involved in capital project progression.

My bet on FHWA: No.

In addition to Jewel, six Northern IL Road Ranger gas stations/truck stops also sell/replace I-Passes, both standard passenger vehicles and semis

https://www.roadrangerusa.com/locations-amenities/amenities/ipass

The Road Ranger at the 1st IL exit off I-39/90 from Wisconsin, before the tolls begin, is one of the 6: South Beloit.

If it was a statewide partnership I'd go trade my expired hard-pack transponder (G4 or 5, the final hard pack model) for a sticker at the Marion Road Ranger at the IL 148 exit off 57. Next time I drive up north... I don't use my I-Pass as much in SoIL as I used to, but last time I did it worked fine. I think it "expired" in 22 or 22. Oh well. Still works AFAIK
