Since I couldn't find a thread on this topic, I started this. If one already exists then could someone please merge this?

This holiday weekend, me and my family went to Mammoth Cave NP for vacation. We stopped in Louisville along the way to watch the fireworks show. I used the opportunity to get some pics of the construction of the I-65 Ohio River Bridge.

These first three pics were taken from the new Pedestrian Big Four Bridge.

These next two were taken from the Kentucky approach.

P.S. It turned out that Louisville decided to cancel their fireworks show this year due to a loss of funding from the Kentucky General Assembly.

Isn't Louisville's big firework show in April anyway. I'm actually surprised that there was even a thought for 4th of July show there as well. You should have continued down I-65 and gone to Nashville's show, their's are good and I'm saying this as Hoosier.

As for the relevant part of this, I too was on that bridge about two weeks ago and saw roughly the same thing. That view's going to look strange with that ultra modern looking bridge next to those iron truss bridges that currently go across the river.

We have this topic: https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=6283.0

The title specifies the I-265 bridge, but we have been using the topic to discuss construction of both bridges.

Something I just noticed yesterday while down here for work: The old SB Exit 0 exit ramp is still there:

From I-65, it's walled off, but from Market St, it's just that gate blocking it off.

I wonder why they didn't just demolish the ramp?

You can't be fiscally conservative if you spend money tearing down useless ramps now can you?

There's also the Game of Thrones Approach: INDOT just kind of forgot about the ramp.

This, simply not worth the effort to remove it.  With enough time, it will crumble and disintegrate, and the plot of land it is on is too small for any development.

The ramp is basically a driveway to service the tolling equipment now.
