Sine salad

When you think of Minnesota cuisine, you probably think of tater tot hotdish, Swedish meatballs, a Jucy Lucy, breaded walleye, and other meat-heavy dishes.

But now the Gopher State is jumping on the salad wagon, as you can see in the photo below, from the town of Melrose.

I've decided that refers to the country, not the bird or the meat that comes from it.  (Pay no mind to the turkey plant to which the street leads.)

Panning a little bit away from that corner, we see a mistaken freeway sign made by City of Los Angeles for I-110 instead of CA-110.  Ordinarily, this would be innocuous, but in this part of town CA 110 is so windy that trucks are not allowed on it, so nobody should be confused that trucks would be allowable (which is implied by the interstate designation).

I consider "sine salad" to be an assembly with FIVE (5) or more markers. To me, four or fewer signs doesn't qualify.

- five destinations on one panel = overwhelming, but not sine salad
- 1,131,683,185,631,485,330,861,316,835,123,648,643 shields across three panels = impressively pressing the boundaries of spacetime, but not sine salad
- 5 separate route markers on 5 separate panels = pour some ranch on it cause that's a tasty sine salad

I thought about saying something, but I figured with the horizontal rules it could be argued that the sign effectively functions as six panels (although it was fabricated as two). Sort of like the reverse of an incremental BGS that's made up of twenty panels but functions as one sign.
