Alex & Jake, I remember you used to have a picture that showed the I-279, I-376, & I-579 PA State Named shields here in Pittsburgh, which was the only place you could find all of them together (the only one I can currently find in the gallery is the I-579 shield by-itself now).

Anyways, I have some bad new about that threesome.  They have removed the I-279 shield from it. :(  Don't have a current picture, but I'll get one when I go Downtown next time.

agentsteel53

wait, they had state-named 376 and 579 at the same time??  now this I gotta see.  I've never seen this picture - in fact I'm trying to think of any triple gantry I've ever seen that was PA state named...

You have already been warned about demanding things from people.  Therefore, you will be punished.

Yeah, there's a StreetView link of the same assembily in my post above.

But here's that link again: I-279, I-376, & I-579 PA State Named shields

Just to addon, I do have two pictures of that assembily before the I-279 shield was removed.  One with the Button Copy dirrection sign above it and one with the new Clearview dirrection sign above it.

I came across a very old CA-118 shield pic the other day. It's the old black and white, button copy shields that date from the 1950s and early 60s:

Here it is, cropped:

Not sure if this is on the gallery or not, but if you want to, you could add it. The original photographer released it into the public domain, so it's free to use.

And what's neat about this whole thing is that this old 1950s-era shield is located on Sunland Blvd. in the Sun Valley, which CA-118 once traveled through but no longer does.

EDIT: Whelp, turns out a pic very similar to this one, but at night, is already on the gallery.

Emailed Alex several new shield photos taken by me. Most are from Michigan, but there are also two Ohio ones.

Jake or Alex

Do you need me to send you guys some of the stuff I have that hasn't been added to the Gallery yet?

This picture that I took should be a good addition to the British Columbia page in the shield gallery:

Here are a couple of additions to the Montana shield gallery page that could be useful:

Along the southern end of Second Street looking northbound in downtown Gardiner, Montana.

Looking down West Park Street leading to the Roosevelt Arch with a "LIVINGSTON ->" guide sign (dig the wood!) and a NORTH US 89 assembly on top.

Identification if used:
"Photo taken by Billy Fortner 12/25/2012" or something like that.
Finally upgraded to Expressway after, what, seven or so years on this forum? Took a dadgum while, but, I made it!

Was this ever resolved?

I really wish B.C. would switch to using FHWA Series fonts on their route shields. That number in either Series C or D would look far better, I think.

A few more US 93 and 12 shields from Missoula ready for addition to the Montana shield gallery:

Junction advancement assembly for US 12 from Russell Street looking northbound.

At the US 93 Business/US 12 (Brooks Street/Russell Street)/South Avenue junction with US 93 Business at the top.

Looking down southbound US 93 Business/westbound US 12 just as I round the corner off Russell Street coming on to northbound US 93 Business/eastbound US 12 on Brooks Street.

Reassurance stack assembly for US 93 Business and US 12.

Junction assembly for US 12 looking westbound down Sussex Avenue, a one-way artery.

Trailblazer assembly for US 12 and US 93 Business at the Brooks Street/Sussex Avenue/Oxford Street junction.

Directional assembly pointing directly left towards Stephens Avenue for US 93 Business. The sign lamp is non-functional and may have been in exsistance since around 1985.

Reassurance stack for the US 12 and US 93 Business split at Brooks Street and Stephens Avenue.

From the Stephens Avenue perspective, this is another reassurance stack, but there is no "BUSINESS" cardinal plate above the US 93 shield.

Wow, that's much better. Is there a picture of the entire alphabet and numerals? And why did they cease using it?

So Jake, you ever going to post those I-71, I-80, & I-90 Button Copy shields I sent you pictures of from Ohio? :P lol.

=====

Also, there is a image that is linking to the wrong page in the OHIO gallery.
is linking to for some odd reason.  The title of the page seems to indicate that both shields should be shown, but just the I-75 one is.  Might want to get that fixed either way, Jake.

I corrected this link for Jake so it should work now.

I was in Pittsburg in August, and got a picture of the 579/376 set up.  I should have them up loaded to my site in the next week.

Alex, Jake, et.al., feel free to take any of the photos I have up for the shield gallery (or the AA Road Guides):

I don't have any names for most of the images, but many are obvious, some have been posted here before, otherwise, just ask.
