Can we have an option to upload files directly from Computer?

Hi all, This is my first post.
I am asking if we can put a option to directly upload images from the computer instead of doing it through a service like Photobucket, when posting. It would be quite convenient in my opinion, as you don't have to go through a different website and copy and paste a link. I would really love for this feature. If such function already exists, Please tell me.

I normally use imgur.

That's impractical for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that the forum would have to host the pictures and that would increase data storage needs and, by extension, costs.

Do you have a smartphone? If so, try the Tapatalk app. It can host the photo for you; it'll upload it from your phone (or tablet) and post it to a thread so that the process will seem transparent to you.

Google Drive might be a good middle ground.  ?
There have been quite a few images linked from Google Drive that don't work for whatever reason.  Of course, this analysis is skewed by only noticing the ones that don't work, but I don't recall having that problem from any images on another service.

Have you had any issues accessing my current meet itinerary for the Raleigh/Durham Meet this summer?  (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=28694.msg2583675#msg2583675)

What I've seen cause problems is when someone changes the photo permissions after linking to it here.  When that happens, the hosted image is given a new URL, and the old one doesn't work anymore.  At least, that's my vague memory of past problems.  I think, if you get the permissions set the way you want them, then linking works fine.  I can't find the thread where I described this in detail once upon a time.

Hmmmmm.... Maybe that was Flickr, not Google Drive........  ??

Yep, that was Flickr.  Never mind.

I changed mine from the default (all rights reserved) to attribution required only some time after I started on Flickr, and the links didn't break.
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

Sorry.  When I said 'permission', I meant public/private.

Not that one, but then, you didn't try to place it in
[img]
tags either.  There have been some that render as a broken image, and when I try to open it in another tab, I just get a login page.
