From what I gather, AR 112 between I-49 and the US 71 freeway spur on the south side of Fayetteville is being decommissioned. AR 16 is being rerouted to follow S Razorback Road from the W 15th Street/S Razorback Road intersection south along what was AR 112 to meet the US 71 freeway. I'm certain it won't be signed, but this extends the I-49/AR 16 overlap and gives AR 16 an out of the way routing. AR 112S is going to be AR 16S and will dead end at Garland Avenue (now former AR 112) and will have a hanging end. Sadly, AR 112 will no longer run under Razorback Stadium.

The same document states that a SPUI will be built at I-49 and US 71/AR 12 (Walnut Street) between Bentonville and Rogers and that US 71B will be decommissioned from Bentonville to Rogers along the AR 12/Walnut stretch. It's not clear, but apparently US 71B will end at the intersection of 8th and Walnut in Rogers and will not reconnect with US 71. US 71B in Bentonville between the AR 12 junction and I-49/US 71/AR 549 (Future I-49) will apparently be left alone. US 71 will have a gap in the route.

It would be easy enough to realign US 71B onto US 62 (and 94 and 102).

It would be easy to realign 71B but this is AHTD we're talking about and they won't bother rerouting it, they will simply remove the signs along the decommissioned stretch. Their signing practices get worse and worse with time. I think it is completely unacceptable for a business route to not meet its parent route at each end. There are several places in Arkansas where this happens.

Happens in Magnolia twice with US 79 & US 82. 82B was just recently decommissioned along its concurrency with US 371 and ends 1 block west of the courthouse square. 79B ends at 82B about 2 blocks east of the square (and has been there for all 15 years that I have been working in that area).

It's funny you mention Magnolia. This PDF is the minutes for a recent AHTD meeting in Little Rock.

Minute Order 2017-022 decommissions several highways in Magnolia. These three highways are removed from the state highway system:

-US 82B from US 371 to US 79-82 on the east side of Magnolia.
-US 82X. Arkansas uses the X secret designation for one direction in a one way pair. Apparently US 82, section 3X was one of the roadways around the Columbia County Courthouse.
-AR 355 from US 79B-82B to US 82.

This file is a little hard to follow and doesn't include a map but I've interpreted it this way: US 82B and AR 355 are gone. US 79B will now end at old US 82B at a hanging end just a few blocks from US 371. None of it makes logical sense to me but we're talking about AHTD.

This same PDF file references an Arkadelphia bypass. I can't find any real information about it on the AHTD website.

So Spur 112 will become Spur 16 ? That's almost coming full circle since that was originally part of 16.

AHTD doesn't make a lot ot sense to me, sometimes.

Yes, apparently it will be AR 16S.

AHTD makes little sense to me either. It makes ODOT (Oklahoma) look like a paragon of rationality in comparison.

He said, "Madam, I just clocked you at 22 MPH," and she said "That's the speed limit," he said "No ma'am, that's the route numbah!"  - Gary Crocker

One part has now been made official. The AR 355 signs have now been removed, after the route was repaved.

US 82B is still signed from US 79/82 to US 371, including the one ways around the courthouse.
