Quote from: Rothman on Today at 01:22:31 AMThe press release mentions viaduct removal as part of this contract. Not all of it, but still. And I definitely remember seeing the roundabout in the plans.Quote from: roadman65 on Today at 12:46:47 AMI see Salt City Construction is one of the contractors for the viaduct removal. They are a New York based firm and started last year on their contracted work.
On their work details I see a roundabout will be installed at one of the new intersections.
The main viaduct removal hasn't been put out to bid yet. Most recent contract let is for Contract 5 -- southern portion of I-81 leading up to the viaduct.
Salt City has won previous contracts' work...

Quote from: PColumbus73 on April 01, 2025, 09:47:02 PMMaybe someone else already pointed this out, but assuming you were on NC 540 going east onto I-42, you could make a 360o loop by taking the exit to I-40 west and continue around the circle back to I-42 east. OR even a 270o loop to I-40 east. No, a 270 loop (NC-540 East around the turbine to I-40 East) is the best you can do there. It is a separate ramp going from I-40 East around to I-42 East. That ramp isn't accessible from the rest of the turbine.
Could be North Carolina's version of Rhonda the Roundabout
Quote from: tdindy88 on April 13, 2025, 05:30:01 AMI was able to get a couple of pictures yesterday of the new signage at I-65 and I-465/74/69 on the south side with the new control cities.https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=4855.5543
The first picture is at the ramp from southbound I-65 to the I-465 ramps. It is interesting how there are three control cities along the Ohio River all in this one location.
The second picture is at the split of the westbound and eastbound ramps. Coming from the south, the northbound I-65 ramp to I-465 has a similar set of signs.
