Here is one of the last remaining I-83 reassurance shields with the "MARYLAND" still on it. Are there any others floating around? I can't think of any. This one is northbound between Northern Pkwy and the County border

wasn't there one on 83 southbound almost at the very end?  just past the junction with MD-25?

there are many floating around as intersection markers.

I have found an array of shields over the years in Baltimore. Most are posted throughout the Maryland pages of AARoads. Ones that may still be posted:

Just north of there and the stench of urine was:

A few other I-83 shields with the custom font and no state named were posted:

Clearly I have a lot to learn. I will look for those ones as well.

Have found a number of other sign gems in Baltimore. PM me with what else you may want to see and if you want a list.

I have not spent much time in Baltimore with my camera, but perhaps I should!

Summer of 2010 I had to drive through Baltimore eight times, so several of those airport runs and the like I turned into sign scouring missions. Some other signs to wet your appetite:

One of my favorites is a Laura sign find:

My own best find in the city:

Another city-install I-83 shield:

One of two old JFK Highway shields, and this one survived a street-scaping project:

The second:

There are some old Maryland route shields with the custom font and oddball circle shields (ones mentioned previously on the forum) posted in the city too.

Pretty sure I saw one of those JFK signs along Erdman Ave.

That was a road I planned on driving the rest of, but never did.

Was going to check out this old Harbor Tunnel sign along it in addition to a few MD 151 shields (state route shields in Baltimore are sort of sign finds themselves).

From December 2012 on a really crappy rainy day.

BTW, Flickr has screwed up direct linking to its images again. You have to jump through a bunch of hoops to just get the picture without the link to the page.

The below is what Flickr wants you to post:

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Here's one I found in Hunt Valley circa 2006. I wonder if it is still there:
