US 622 and US 711: did they exist?

Occasionally someone contacts me and asks why I don't list US 622 and US 711 on usends.com.  Since a.) they weren't on the final list of US routes approved in late 1926, and b.) they only appear on maps from 1927 (which were prone to numbering errors), my hunch is that they never existed anywhere other than maps.  It's possible that they were PennDoT initiatives that were never approved by AASHO (kind of like the rogue US routes that appeared only on MNDoT's 1934 map).  Has anyone ever seen a photo or any other evidence suggesting that either of these routes was ever signposted?

True, it was published in April 1927, but my understanding is that it was the same list that AASHO approved five months earlier.  Do you disagree?  Do you think that the 1926 map showed what was actually approved in Nov. 1926, and within the next five months US 622 and US 711 had already been decommissioned?

I believe those routes were changed between November 1926 and April 1927.

Try refereshing?  Pulled up just fine for me now...as well as earlier today around lunchtime.

I spent some time comparing the 1926 map and the 1927 list.  Turns out there are a few significant differences, most of which were in - you guessed it - Pennsylvania.  And based on the FHWA article NE2 linked to upthread, this was undoubtedly a result of Pennsylvania's late objections and revisions.

So, for this thread: US 622 and 711 were both shown on the 1926 map.  But by the time of the 1927 list, all of US 622 had been replaced by an extension of US 522, and all of US 711 had been replaced by a rerouting of US 220.  And my understanding is that Penn. didn't even signpost US routes until 1928.  So if that's true, then probably no 622 or 711 shields were ever manufactured.  Thoughts?

Update: I've created a new page about four US routes that were approved in Nov. 1926, but that were deleted within the next few months, meaning they were probably never signposted.  In addition to US 622 and US 711, the other two were US 109 and US 630.
