I'm pretty sure they extended the yellow phase throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. They may actually open up eastern Pennsylvania very soon, but of course that's no guarantee.
No, they did not and will not until June 4. Tim... if you can move your roadmeet by even ONE WEEKEND I would feel more comfortable attending. The later you can push this the better.

A couple other people have already reserved nonrefundable hotels.

And the yellow phase is most certainly extended throughout southwestern PA:

Maybe if everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - agrees to reschedule it for June 6, I might CONSIDER it. But it has to be UNANIMOUS.
Might as well face it, pooing is cool

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll have to see what things are like on the 28th to determine if I can possibly attend.

I'll ask, but it might be futile.

It has to be unanimous though.

I've posted a poll on the Facebook page asking whether to delay this meet for a week:

But it has to be UNANIMOUS, so I doubt that'll happen.

Doesn't matter which day to me as it's just a day trip.

It may start raining fire and brimstone from the sky, but of course that's no guarantee.

I understand you want to have your meet go off without a hitch but statements like these help no one.

I don't think any meet has ever been perfect.

Also, there is at least one person who says they just can't make it June 6. I'm starting to get an idea of what to do, but it's so crazy it might just work.
Might as well face it, pooing is cool

bandit957

I have a crazy idea, and I don't know if it'll work. Would it be possible to have a meet on both May 30 and June 6? Or is that just spreading it too thin?

I would keep it on one day. Don't worry if I can't make it. I'll see what laws PA has in place on 5/29.

If you're free, no reason you couldn't host something both days for whomever can make it on whichever day. Even if just a couple of people come on the 6th, you could guide them on the tour.

At long last, I've finished the itinerary. People who are coming to the meet should copy this so they can use it...

2020 CINCINNATI ROADMEET!

Grab your raincoat! It's a Cincinnati roadmeet! All times on this itin are EDT and are tentative, but we can beat this schedule if we're cool and we don't dawdle. Most of the lettered items are waypoints that we can drive through, but a few are stops where we can get out and explore!

11 AM: Picnic at Bellevue Beach Park, 643-665 Frank Benke Way, Bellevue, KY 41073

12:45 PM: Drive 6 mi, 33 minutes
*A* - Bellevue Beach Park, 643-665 Frank Benke Way, Bellevue, KY 41073, USA
*B* - E 3rd St & Eggleston Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
This begins an interesting stretch of 3rd that runs under the US 50 viaduct.
*C* - E 3rd St & Butler St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
This ends the stretch of 3rd under the viaduct.
*D* - E 8th St & Broadway, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
Going north, peep the old US 22/OH 3 assembly at left. Not ancient, but pretty old.
*E* - Sycamore St & E 9th St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
Notice an old 1950s-era sign blade.
*F* - W 9th St & Race St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
   Another old sign blade!
*G* - Gest St southeast of Freeman, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
Going southeast, there's a weird left-hand ramp with an old button copy sign to Linn Street.
*H* - Dalton Ave & Gest St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
Going south, watch for old signs on this stretch.
*I* - Gest St & W 3rd St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
Should be an old but not ancient shield. But this is not a stop, so we can keep moving!

1:18 PM: Drive 1 mi, 2 minutes
*A* - Gest St & W 3rd St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
*B* - W Pete Rose Way & W 3rd St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
Going northwest, this stretch has some old signs.
*C* - W Mehring Way & Freeman Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
This is a STOP! We can get out here and admire abandoned 5th St. We should be able to park on the abandoned roadway. But only if poo.

1:38 PM: Drive 1 mi, 5 minutes
*A* - W Mehring Way & Freeman Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
Going west, this stretch runs directly under a long rail bridge.
*B* - W Mehring Way & Harriet St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
End the stretch under the rail bridge.
*C* - W 8th St & McLean St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
Another STOP! There is a very old, rusted, possibly 1920s-era mileage sign for Cleves on one of the walls at the east end of the 8th St. Viaduct. Going south on McLean, you can see it straight ahead. Parking should be available at some parking lots nearby.

1:53 PM: Drive 1 mi, 2 minutes
*A* - W 8th St & McLean St, Cincinnati, OH 45203, USA
*B* - Evans St & Aaron Raines Ln, Cincinnati, OH 45204, USA
A STOP where we get to examine this unusual setup and the viaduct. Parking should be available on Aaron Raines Lane.

2:13 PM: Drive 13 mi, 45 minutes
*A* - Evans St & Aaron Raines Ln, Cincinnati, OH 45204, USA
*B* - 1445 Harrison Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45214, USA
This location starts the Western Hills Viaduct. With luck, we'll end up on the lower deck to enjoy.
*C* - 2336 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45214, USA
   End viaduct.
*D* - Dreman Ave & Dirr St, Cincinnati, OH 45223, USA
Look east. That's a closed stretch of Dreman. Heading back the other way, the next stretch has a couple old shields for you to peep.
*E* - Spring Grove Ave & Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223, USA
This ends the stretch with the old shields.
*F* - 3010 Duck Creek Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45212, USA
A STOP involving a little-used road with a very old rail bridge overhead. The area should also have some older stop signs with a strange font. Parking should be available on the road.

3:16 PM: Drive 5 mi, 18 minutes
*A* - 3010 Duck Creek Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45212, USA
*B* - 4612 Red Bank Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45227, USA
This STOP is a stub end of Red Bank where it used to have a bridge over the rail line. Parking should be available on the road.

3:44 PM: Drive 1 mi, 6 minutes
*A* - 4612 Red Bank Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45227, USA
*B* - Red Bank Rd & Tompkins Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45227, USA
This STOP is the other stub end of the bridge in the last stop. Parking should be available on the road.

4 PM: Drive 2 mi, 8 minutes
*A* - Red Bank Rd & Tompkins Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45227, USA
*B* - 3725 Meadowlark Ln, Fairfax, OH 45227, USA
This STOP has a very old yield sign coming out of Frisch's parking lot onto Meadowlark. Park in the parking lot.

4:18 PM: Drive 13 mi, 42 minutes
*A* - 3725 Meadowlark Ln, Fairfax, OH 45227, USA
*B* - 6901 Wooster Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45227, USA
Going east, you should see an ancient US 50 cutout.
*C* - Wooster Pike & East St, Mariemont, OH 45227, USA
   End cutout stretch.
*D* - 4619 Columbia Pkwy, Cincinnati, OH 45226, USA
As we head west, you should see a very old US 50 sign.
*E* - Eastern Ave & Delta Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45226, USA
Going southeast, we begin a stretch with a couple old shields. Again, probably not ancient, but still quite old.
*F* - Eastern Ave & Stanley Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45226, USA
   End shield stretch.
*G* - York St & W 3rd St, Newport, KY 41071, USA
Heading southwest from the roundabout, we begin the new KY 8, which eventually leads us to the new KY 9.
*H* - W 5th St & Patterson St Newport, KY 41071, USA
This STOP has some nice abandoned roadways. Parking should be available on the street.

5:18 PM: Drive 2 mi, 9 minutes
*A* - W 5th St & Patterson St Newport, KY 41071, USA
From here we can go south on the new KY 9.
*B* - 1104 KY-9, Newport, KY 41071, USA
   End new KY 9 stretch.
*C* - 19 W 11th St, Covington, KY 41011, USA
This STOP shows us a bridge now closed to auto traffic, which was part of KY 1120. Parking should be available on the street.

5:45 PM: Drive 2 mi, 9 minutes
*A* - 19 W 11th St, Covington, KY 41011, USA
*B* - 30 W 26th St, Covington, KY 41014, USA
At this STOP, an interesting stub of 26th runs southwest and ends at an abandoned stretch. There should be an old, embossed ROAD CLOSED sign. The best option for parking here may be the Boys & Girls Club.

6:12 PM: Drive 4 mi, 23 minutes
*A* - 30 W 26th St, Covington, KY 41014, USA
*B* - 675 Berry Ave, Bellevue, KY 41073, USA
At this STOP, a very old rail overpass goes over the street. Both directions have an ancient clearance sign on the bridge. There should be parking on the street.

6:40 PM: Drive 3 mi, 11 minutes
*A* - 675 Berry Ave, Bellevue, KY 41073, USA
*B* - Mary Ingles Hwy & Tower Hill Rd, Fort Thomas, KY 41075, USA
This STOP shows us the closure of the former KY 8. You may be able to park at the end of the open stretch, but once again, only if poo.

7:09 PM: Drive 4 mi, 17 minutes
*A* - Mary Ingles Hwy & Tower Hill Rd, Fort Thomas, KY 41075, USA
*B* - Mary Ingles Hwy & River Rd, Fort Thomas, KY 41075, USA
This STOP has the other end of the closure of the former KY 8. Again, you may be able to park at the end of the usable stretch, but of course that's poo contingent.

7:44 PM: Drive 6 mi, 17 minutes
*A* - Mary Ingles Hwy & River Rd, Fort Thomas, KY 41075, USA
*B* - 1 Nunn Dr, Highland Heights, KY 41099, USA
At the roundabout, we begin a new road called KY 2405, and we head south.
*C* - 541 Johns Hill Rd, Highland Heights, KY 41076, USA
This STOP should treat us to the stub end of the future KY 2405. We may be able to park at the stub end of the road.

8:19 PM: Drive 18 mi, 48 minutes
*A* - 541 Johns Hill Rd, Highland Heights, KY 41076, USA
*B* - 4312 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076, USA
Bip onto East Alexandria Pike. Believe it or not, it was once part of US 27, and that's the only reason I'm including it.
*C* - 6478 E Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076, USA
As we continue on East Alexandria Pike, it gets tougher to imagine that this once was US 27.
*D* - E Alexandria at Alexandria in Alexandria, KY 41001, USA
End the old stretch of US 27.
*E* - Bellevue Beach Park, 643-665 Frank Benke Way, Bellevue, KY 41073, USA

There was a major mudslide on KY 9 yesterday that had all four lanes closed. I'm not sure of the location, but hopefully it will get cleared up before the meet.

Is there any danger of the park going under water due to all the flooding in the area? Near-record flooding has been predicted for this week for the Licking River at Cynthiana and Falmouth.

That mudslide may be within sight of the part of KY 9 we'll be on, but it's not right on it.

The park probably won't flood, but it's possible. I can find a different park if it does.

Think about an alternative location, but no decisions have to be made till after Memorial Day.

According to Google Maps (so take it for what its worth...)
KY 9 is still closed from I-275 to Newport, and supposedly through Saturday (must be for the mudslide H.B. spoke of up thread)
Beekman Street is shown as closed, through Sunday, around the western end of the Western Hills Viaduct.

Last week, there was concerning that the Ohio River could flood the park where we're meeting before starting the tour.
That should not be a concern. The projected height for the Ohio River for Saturday will be 33 feet, 7 ft below where the "action stage" (whatever that is)
Water Level at the Roebling bridge - https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?gage=ccno1&wfo=iln

Far as weather for Cincy goes. A cold front will go through Ohio on Friday. Saturday is shown to be Partly cloudy with a high of 73. If you plan on staying over in Cincinnati for the weekend, Saturday night/Sunday morning low could dip below 50 degrees, and Sunday's high is projected to be 70 degees and Sunny.
Unless you have a hard time getting warm, jackets shouldn't be necessary (unless you are staying over in Cincy this weekend, in which case, bring a windbreaker)

If nothing else, there should be nothing meteorological nor climalogical to adversely effect Tim's roadmeet.
Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

Today was the long-awaited Cincinnati roadmeet that I hosted!

A half-dozen people showed, coming from as far away as Missouri, Tennessee, and Illinois. As Roads Scholars, we drove about the roads of Cincinnati like the unassailable superpeople we are.

Someone said the meet would have drawn even more people, except that recent circumstances may have discouraged them.

Best all, as we gathered in a restaurant parking lot as we prepared to leave, I briefly detected the unmistakable bouquet of a silent-but-deadly bunker blast.
