wish I could post my US-40 shield from Arizona but alas there is no context for it

I do like this indicator, and therefore mandate that it be used from now on.  No point in getting hosed due to firewalls  :ded:

hmm, I can't tell where that is.  Could be NH, could be Maine.  Could be VT, even, on a 1960s sign.  Likely not Montana, since I do believe they put the state name on all their shields, but maybe they tossed a few neutered ones up here and there.

(when I put in the rules that it's gotta be obvious where that is, I didn't mean "obvious to anyone with a thorough knowledge of Maine's state highway system"!  :-D )

43 remains open.

fair enough!  How about a different picture of the same US 2/ME 4/ME 43 multiplex near Farmington, ME?

Even you bent that rule yourself earlier...

on which one?  19? everyone knows where St. Petersburg and the Skyway are; not everyone knows where US-2 intersects a square 4 and a square 43.

anyone got a picture of a classic cross-hatched Maine 43 shield in the wild?  The only photo I've got is in someone's collection, unfortunately.

4 numbers left, but 5 states?  Did a duplicate sneak through?

Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

RI was technically done at 44, but the mandatory indicator wasn't used and the photo was possibly not from the wild

So remaining is : DE GA NV NH

agentsteel53

the 44 is from the wild.  I am surprised I don't have the previous frame from that film up on the shield gallery (very surprised, seeing as I digitized the film myself!) - that one shows some of the road being lit up by headlights.

where the Hell did I put that photo of a DEL 48 cutout!?

all I can find on AARoads are context-free boring circles.  :pan:

Likewise, hopefully someone has a NH 49 photo...

agentsteel53

I know for a fact that I've seen a cutout DEL 48 shield somewhere.

Nevada 49 did exist, but a photo of a shield may be a tough find, but US-50 is trivial.

Doesn't matter.  Nevada will have to be 50, since a 50 doesn't exist in New Hampshire...

Ian

Apperently I do have an NH 49 photo, but 48 has to go first.

Are you thinking of the DEL 4 shield in Wilmington? I don't think a DEL 48 shield survives  .

I should be able to find it at home.  For now here's a nice 50.  We can start round 2 once I find that Del 48 shield - unless someone can find us a 48 that has enough context to identify it as a Delaware.
