Hello Everyone!

My name is Owen and I am from Indiana. I have been obsessed with maps since I was very young, and even had most of the world's capitols memorized. These days I draw my own maps in my free time as well as study local maps and routes, and research updates on I-69 and Midstate Corridor developments.

I was super excited to find this site filled with people as excited as I am that know even more than I do about this wonderful road-trip nation's transportation systems! (and even more excited to see that it is still being used - most others I have found to be completely outdated and forgotten about).

Anyways, I am super pumped to be here and can't wait to hear more about road developments around the country and maybe learn a few things. Feel free to message me!

Hey, I do that too, looks like we've got something in common. I've got a pretty big knack for geography and I have the flags and capitals of the world memorized pretty well, as well as political subdivisions for some of them. I can also draw a map of any state from memory pretty well, routes and towns included, as well as a few counties for each. I've had this interest my whole life. I spend a bit of my free time making fictional, US/Canada-inspired maps.


With that said, welcome to the forums.

If you're talking about the ranks (county road, arterial, etc) those increase with your post count.

First of all, welcome from a fellow Hoosier.  I've lived in 8 different Indiana counties, visited them all, and driven 73% of the state's interstate/US highway/state highway mileage.  There are very few places in Indiana that I haven't heard of, but Stendal is one of them.  I had to look it up on Google maps. 

The road signs by users names are their avatars.  You can upload one by going to Profile-->Modify Profile-->Forum Profile.

Anyways, I happened to pass through your state on I-64 and US 231 two years ago. Didn't find the landscape terribly interesting, if I'm rather honest...but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Welcome to the board! Lots of Indiana members here.

We haven't stopped working AARoads, but the page additions and updates are not as often as there's a number of things on the back end still being worked on. Also I do most of the updating and get scatterbrained with area of focus for site work often. That and the backlog of photos goes back 15 years now.

I hear you on outdated or forgotten sites; I'd rather just shut the whole thing down before I'd let AARoads go completely stale.
