I'm calling dibs on the first Charlottesville Road Meet sometime in the future.
Pfft.  Nah.  We've had a couple of issues with people saying they're going to have a meet and then don't.  First announced, first serve.

I could probably put something together for Charlottesville right now honestly.  I'd probably try to do lunch near the US 29/SR 631 grade-separated intersection.

If something was in Michigan I wouldn't mind going. Either Detroit, Flint, Lansing, Saginaw, Grand Rapids.

Wood Grill Buffet would by my choice for lunch. I don't know if roadmeets usually do buffets for lunch though.

There are several communities I would be interested in someday holding a meet event.  A lot of them are tied to old infrastructure and notable highway corridors with historic significance.

-  Flagstaff-Sedona-Prescott
-  Superior-Miami-Globe-Show Low
-  Tucson and Bisbee
-  Oatman and and Mohave County
-  Morenci-Clifton and the Coronado Trail
-  Tortilla Flat and the Apache Trail if AZ 88 ever fully reopens

We have done Hoss's Steak and Sea up here in PA, which has a garden bar.  It would not be a bad choice for the simple reason of not having to deal with separating checks and stuff.

I would really like Sedona just to clinch AZ 89A (and try to figure out why people flock there).

89A through Oak Creek Canyon is pretty spectacular.  Jerome tends to be more my speed than Sedona and is pretty much the perfect Meet attraction community.

  • Inland Empire

What/where does that mean?

Just barely east of Los Angeles.

Specifically San Bernardino and Riverside.  A Big Bear and Palm Springs Meet was proposed this year.  Likely that meet would have incorporated some Inland Empire elements (and probably would have been more interesting).

A few years ago I would have suggested including the Zion Crossroads DDI, but I think they're not as special as they used to be.

I considered them not-as-special by the time I first drove through the DDI in Washington, PA, at the I-70/I-79 interchange at US 19.

Michigan hardly ever has any road meets anymore.  The last one I attended (perhaps the last one Michigan has had) was in Battle Creek in 2016.

So far I think I've been the only person to host a Seattle meet. Twice. I live by NYC. But a lot of WA and OR have not been touched.

A Spokane meet would be fun.
I think necessary once 395 actually opens. Go ahead and plan us that one (:

There should probably be one for the Gordie Howe Bridge in a year or two. Not that I'd sponsor or attend; I just am not that social around people I only know from online.

(I was tempted to say Souky, but I wouldn't do that.)

I'm planning one on the border next year, Michigan City, Indiana, with spillover into New Buffalo, Michigan.

I might be able to do that.

Mike and I have been slowly covering different parts of Maryland with meets. I hosted an ICC meet in Montgomery County, MD in 2011, then Salisbury/Lower Delmarva in 2014, Baltimore and (Mid-Delmarva) Eastern Shore of MD meets in 2015, then Harford County, MD and Cumberland/Western MD in 2023.

As a result, we also went through parts of DC, Delaware, and West Virginia! I also hosted a Lynchburg, VA meet in 2022, so I've had meets cross through 5 states!

At this point, it's easier for me to list the Maryland counties that (to my memory) have not had meet tours cross through them: Calvert, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Howard, St. Mary's, Washington. I don't have the 2014 itinerary handy so I can't remember if we hit all of the lower Delmarva ones or not. Considering that there are 23 counties and 1 independent city, we have covered a lot of ground!

I've tried really hard to have meets in places that aren't covered (Jamestown–Salamanca NY, Milford PA, Little Falls NJ, Marshalls Creek PA, Monticello NY for examples). Meadville–Oil City–Titusville PA is the same idea. Hyper local meets tend to make things interesting rather than going to the same urban centers all the time.

Those small towns usually have the interesting stuff. I have lots of meet ideas for similarly-sized towns in California and Nevada that I know are untouched.

Similarly, I've focused on smaller towns and rural areas as opposed to bigger cities in meets I've hosted. The only true "big city" meet (relatively speaking) is Charleston, WV, but a big part of it was the US 35 expressway that was built in a rural area. Outside the Huntington-Ashland tri-state meet, I've been to rural western Kentucky, Pikeville (twice) and Somerset. There was quite a bit to see on each meet that would be missed in a meet in a metro area.

Northwest Arkansas.

US-71 (R.I.P) proposed one back in 2018, but it didn't get enough interest at the time.  There's a whole lot more moving parts now, and there are scores of road projects in the works coming up in the next 3-7 years mainly regarding the Springdale Northern Bypass and AR-112 with its 28 roundabouts in 26 miles along with the XNA Connector and likely Siloam Springs Bypass.  So maybe 2025-2026 would be a good time for one if you like lots of orange barrels along with the ever-present historical bridges and scenic roads that radiate from NWA.
