I just noticed that when I took my drive to Bridgeport, Washington, back in January, that this reassurance shield for Washington State Route 173 is all sorts of wrong. However, I'm not sure what it's mixed up with. It's just as you enter Bridgeport off of Washington State Route 17. Additionally, looking at Google Maps' only image capture from 2008, which is why it's not the best quality, shows it was correct back then, with Washington's head silhouette: https://goo.gl/maps/JUepiMPMFdM1Nv3r5

I'm not sure why it's incorrect now, nor do I, again, know what it's even mixed up with, as it's not mixed up with a shield used for US routes.

Contractor error, most likely, as the sidewalk was redone a few years ago. That sign has been there since at least 2019: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:SR-173N.jpg

NJ 30 shield for US 30 on NJ 187 SB in Atlantic City..

That up arrow makes no sense either. It's inconsistent with the lane configuration and other signage.

Multiple instances from WisDOT I've collected over this past year. Apologies for the poor photo quality.

WI-61 should be US-61:

WI-14 should be US-14:

If I had a better photo of this one, I'd probably use it as my profile photo.

WI-18 should be US-18:

US 130 and US 819 are a thing in Greensburg, PA.

This is probably my first time ever seeing a US highway shield with a 3-digit number starting with 8 or 9! Makes me wonder about all kinds of fictional highway possibilities...

US-24 downgraded to M-24 in Taylor, MI (confusing because there already IS an M-24 in Michigan that is nowhere near this segment of US-24; this segment is a roughly 3-mile long section of Telegraph Rd between I-94 and US-12 Michigan Ave that has been under construction for several months, and M-24 signs have been wrongly posted throughout the entire northbound construction zone).

Although I don't personally care, this situation is a good argument for a California style state route rule, making all routes, regardless of designation, pull for the same pool of numbers.

Although I don't personally care, this situation is a good argument for a California style state route rule, making all routes, regardless of designation, pull for the same pool of numbers.

Michigan has endeavored to avoid duplicating its US-route numbers as state-route designations.  The major exceptions are US-10/M-10 (with US-10's Ludington-Bay City route not close to M-10 in metro Detroit) and US-24/M-24 (their ends come close in northern Oakland County but don't actually touch); and US-45/M-45 (US-45 in the U.P. is nowhere close to M-45 in the Grand Rapids region).

MDOT assigned M-25 to the northernmost segment of the former US-25 only when it was decommissioned in Michigan, and assigned M-27 to the segment of old US-27 between Indian River and Cheboygan when US-27 was decommissioned north of Grayling. And, nobody ever confused the now-decommissioned US-33 (now M-63) in Berrien County for the current M-33 in the northeastern Lower Peninsula.

Five years later and this switch up is still here. This is supposed to be US 67 in Beebe, AR. I took this today.

I take pictures of road signs, that's about it.

General rule of thumb: Just stay in the "Traffic Control" section of the forum and you'll be fine.

US 76 got rerouted from Wrightsville Beach to Richmond, apparently. These are brand new.

^I am kinda surprised you found these.  I do not think I have ever gone onto VA 76 this way.

I actually live nearby and drove through the office park one day when I stumbled on these. There's also a US 76 "west"  sign on one of the other streets.

Error US 51 shield spotted at 24:22. It was a correct IN 51 one as recently as November:

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

The US 51 shield is actually at 24:46.
