With the end of the year approaching, I had an idea for a thread in which people show the 12 best road photos they had taken this year. Presenting these photos is done to answer the question of, if you made a roadfan calendar using your own photos, which 12 photos would you choose? Feel free to attribute each photo to the month of your choice for each photo, or simply choose 12 photos from the past year that you like the most!

So I ask, what would your 2025 calendar look like if you chose your best 12 photos to feature in it?

Dang, I might have to put thought into this one.  At least I have this paired down to a smaller selection on the "Best Of" thread.

Ah fuck it, might as well get started.  Mine are actually representing the months I took these photos in.

December

November

September

August

Madera County Road 607 (not on GSV).  This was part of the 1853-era Stockton-Los Angeles Road, in particular the segment between Fresno Crossing and Newton's Ferry via the Buchannan Mine.  Hard to believe something like this more or less served as the main north/south route between those two namesake cities.

April

The Michigan Bar Road Bridge at the Consumnes River.  The deck was constructed in 1947, I suspect the pilings are likely far older:

Remind me to actually pick photos when I have time, but I think I've narrowed down trips I'd take them from at least:

January: RI 138 clinching trip
February: US 4/US 3 clinching trip
March: Incidental local photo from NY 2 (taken in February) or NY 5
April and May: Montréal trip (taken in May)
June and July: Michigan City Roadmeet trip (taken in July)
August: Quad State Roadmeet trip
September: Thousand Islands trip (taken in August)
October and November: NH/Maine trip (taken in October)
December: NH 16/US 3 clinching trip (taken in November)

Although the number of photos I've taken this year pales in comparison to others, 2,637 photos are more photos than I'm willing to sift through to pick 12. :D

I went and did mine today.  I tweaked the trip months slightly, so it doesn't 100% match what I posted earlier, but it's close.  Unfortunately, the don't want to embed for some reason, so you'll have to settle for links.

February - NH 9 approaching the bridge to Vermont

March - NY 2 in the Town of Colonie (taken in February)

April - I-87 north in the Adirondacks (taken in May)

May - A-15 nord near Sainte-Adèle

June - The Blue Water Bridge (I-94/I-69 connecting to ON 402 - taken in July)

July - I-66 west in Fairfax (taken in August)

August - The Thousand Islands Bridge - American Span (I-81)

September - The Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge (NY 812 connecting to ON 16 - taken in August)

October - I-91 south between Barton and Lydon

I cheated by using the ~10% sample I post to Facebook with my site updates to narrow it down.
