These X's are going to kill this thread without some sort of rule change, I'm afraid.

Another possible suggestion: make X a wildcard? Meaning the next city can start with any letter–that way we can have cities that start with letters that are rarely ended with, like B, C, or V.

Everyone, except me, takes pictures of signs with "Xenia" on them.  Shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't either. And besides, using just the one city gets kind of repetitive, not?

Couldn't find it fast enough to directly reply to Appomattox (and yes, I do have at least one other ending in x...try and stop me!).  What about using more than one last letter as long as it was in the same order?  This could also be applied generally and get a few more letters into the game...

Perhaps for "X" some non-city destinations might be deemed acceptable. Xel-Ha and Xcaret come to mind as ones for which someone likely has a picture, given their location.

Actually, I'd just follow PHLBOS' post, invoking the "A" rule to follow it with a relatively unused starting letter.

Cardel -> La Pêche (QC):

Mapmikey's suggestion makes sense for future use, but we don't need to use it here.

I probably have a few Xenias in the library, and definitely have more Appomattoxes I can play.

Despite the fact I actually have 2 M-villages that end in X, I will instead put W into the game...

I suggest not re-playing Appomattox, even with a new photo, and re playing Xenia only as a last resort (by then, the OP might approve Mapmikey's proposed workaround).

IMO (since I'm not the OP), some other ______x name (Virginia has others) would be fair game.

Moscow => Waimea (HI, on Kauai island -- Hawaii has three Waimeas):

Exeter -> Relief

SR 628, Frederick County

Wait, where did the Winston-Salem to Maysville come from? The last correct one I see is Waimea.

But if Relief is legit, here's a Falls Church. I was gonna post a Fairfax but decided to hold off.

Thank you.  For the love of god, thank you for holding off.
Also, Winston-Salem is the name of one singular city.
EDIT: wait, you're right...there was a double-post.  Idk what to do now.

Here's Falls Church >> Holbrook (MA)

I'm well aware of where Winston-Salem is since I almost took a job there, I just don't see it in this thread! Oscar edited his post, so maybe there's the issue. I say we just go with it as it is since there have been several replies and it's not worth messing it up.

Yeah, I messed up by trying to sub in Winston-Salem for Waimea, before realizing that I'd already used that photo. I thought I'd removed the W-S photo before anyone had a chance to follow up on it, but that didn't work.

I agree, let's go with what we have, to not add to my mess.

Taking a screenshot of Google Street View isn't kosher, either. Remember, it is of the devil.

As for the Xs, we've seen a few of them, and each time we've managed to find something that works. If we get seriously stuck (say, 24 hours between posts?), we can use the A rule as a fallback. That being said, we have seen more Xs than letter frequency would suggest we should have by this point. So until that happens, the rule is to publicly shame anyone who posts a town ending in X, and accuse them of ridiculous crimes. Be considerate of the person posting after you.

I wasn't initially aware that this shot was from GSV (i.e. I did not generate it via such).  I have since replaced that photo in the original post with another one bearing the same city (Tampa) (i.e. I repent).

Too bad I never took a picture the last time I passed through Youngsville or Ypsilanti.
