Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

1, thankx for putting C into play. But I don't see the Tepic sign in your photo, unless it's the small patch of green near the center of the photo.

The Tepic sign is legible on my iPad when I zoom. It's on the median.

Using the "A" rule

Kailua->Alexandria-> Mansfield

I was under the impression it's the person who posts AFTER the one beginning and ending with "a" who chooses whether to opt for a different name on the sign.

Alexandria ---> Annandale

That's my take too.

I don't think we've had Washington yet. So here it is. Not gonna retype the name Oscar posted (or copy it since I'm doing this via iPhone).

1995hoo, thanks for the seriously historical photo. How old is it?

FWIW, I don't know how the last three letters of  "Gitwinksihlkw" are pronounced. The village slogan "Place of the Lizards" did not encourage me to hang around to find out more :)

BTW, my attempts to post an S have been beaten out twice, by seconds, in the past few minutes.This is getting competitive (in a good way)!

Edited to answer Oscar: I think it from around 1964 or 1965. Could be 1966. Sadly, I didn't take the photo (I was born in 1973), but I have it in my Photobucket and it was too good not to use.

This has happened to me a lot because the Photobucket iPad app isn't working right, so I'm having to use my phone (not going to use my PC since I'm sitting on the couch near the kitchen while cooking dinner). By the time I scroll through the thumbnails, copy the link, and edit it, someone beats me to it. But that just means more interesting stuff to see.
