General rule of thumb: Just stay in the "Traffic Control" section of the forum and you'll be fine.

That is a fantastically lazy way of doing that assembly. Why even bother with the fingerboard-esque panels if you're just going to glom them onto one big panel? May as well do a US-style layout with arrows at that point.

It's the way the regulations are over here. Ripon and Thirsk are Primary destinations so they are green. Anything else is considered local and is white. The assembly is pre-1994 as the local signs have blue borders which became black after that. This interchange was rebuilt 8 years ago and all the signs have been replaced.
