Okay, I figured I would start a quick thread to get the ball rolling. A couple of photos of two Illinois highways crossing over the Illinois River:

Illinois 89 crossing over the Illinois River just south of Spring Valley. Photo taken 05/07/10.

Northbound Interstate 39 crossing over the Illinois River along the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Bridge. Photo taken 05/07/10.

RIP.  That was a nice bridge.  I don't know why they didn't use it for one of the sets of lanes.

ODOT told me over a year ago they intended to replace it eventually (was rated at 49 percent sufficiency), but I thought it would be a couple more years, at least, before it was replaced.

The Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville, FL is one of my favorites:

Oklahoma used a few standardized truss bridge designs rather heavily during the state highway system's prime expansion period. As a result, you can find a lot of these bridges all over the state highway system.

Bridge over the Washita River south of Lindsay on OK-76.

Bridge over the Washita River west of Wynnewood on US-77/OK-29.

And here's the James C. Nance deck truss bridge in Purcell. I should have thought to bring the OKC meet there; it wasn't too far away from the truss bridge we examined in Washington.

Bridge over the Hennepin Canal in Bureau County, Illinois.

Is that a purpose-built pedestrian bridge?  If so, how tall are the trusses?

It was originally built circa 1900 for horse and buggy traffic on 1250 South.

It was bypassed in the late 1990s by the culvert behind it.  It also had a sibling across West Bureau Creek just south of here, but that bridge was demo'd when its replacement was built.  It carried auto traffic, and there is a weight limit sign still there on the north side of the bridge, hidden in the bushes.

This bridge is a purpose built pedestrian bridge, the Anne Street Bridge in Minot, ND:
