TxDOT has replaced the "BUSINESS 121 H" signs with "121 TEXAS H" signs, but they did not add a "BUSINESS" plaque like they needed to. The

The old signs were deteriorated.

As another forum member pointed out, TxDOT has changed the standard for business route signage, eliminating the shields with "BUSINESS" in them, and going back to just using BUSINESS plaques.

It's ridiculous that they would install incorrect signing like this.

What does the "H" signify?

Texas inventories each unique business route with a letter, across all route types (so this includes Interstate business routes).

I drove this road today and observed that the signage has been corrected. A BUSINESS plaque has been added.

That's unusual. Normally business route signs have the BUSINESS on the sign above the number and no TEXAS on it. Is this a new thing with TxDOT?

TxDOT is phasing out in-shield BUSINESS signage in favor of what is shown in the second TX 121 pic; it appears the state will still letter each individual business route instance, as before.
