All these years and LIRR doesn't know where NY 112 ends

For years the Long Island Rail Road had given the address of Port Jefferson Station as being on "Route 112 (Main Street) and Oakland Avenue;"

However, the truth is that  New York State Route 112 ends south of the station.

The way I see it, this must have something to do with that old proposal to realign Route 25A along the Setauket-Port Jefferson Bypass, and potentially extend Route 112 north of 25A.

According to Wikipedia, you're wrong, this was planned if 25A was ever completed as a bypass.

All these years and I thought NY 112 ended at NY 25A south of the train station in Port Jeff Station.  When I was growing up (some miles down NY 347), my pediatrician had his office located in Port Jeff, and on doctor's visits, I passed through this area many times.  I also have some older photos (about 10 years old) on the State Ends NY site.
