Completely radical idea for college sports that will 100% not work

Completely abolish conferences. I don't think that they are good for sports. Especially with the new super conferences forming. Every school is an independent so that they can play all their rivals. For football, 6 games will be scheduled by the school and the other 6 will be a lottery of every other FBS team, to have unique matchups every year. The lottery probably wouldn't be completely random. Any thoughts?

I actually was inspired by that. I started this topic to avoid clogging the football thread with completely unrelated content.
