Title: "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" parody about 'Sesame Street' characters
Post by: bandit957 on June 01, 2018, 08:41:11 PM
When I was about 10, I used to take lines from the Paul Simon song "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" and make them about 'Sesame Street' characters...

Hire an attorney, Ernie!
Eat some dirt, Bert!
Your life is over, Grover!
You're a pooper, Mr. Hooper!

Anyone else do this too?

One time I wrote a set of verses to continue Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire".

Hawaii has the "50 Ways to Leave Your Lava" pun, but I don't think it ever got developed beyond reworking the title. Especially since lava in Hawaii is usually slower than walking speed, so leaving it isn't hard, once you overcome any stubborn attachment to property you knew was on the side of a volcano that has been continuously erupting for three and a half decades.
