Go figure why, but the autoroute 20 project, to get away from Harwood blvd. in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and rebuild with interchanges on Perrot island completely disappeared from the MTQ website.  Maybe a couple of NIMBY yellers showed some opposition?  Maybe they didn't find money to finance the project?  I don't know!

Somebody have any information about that?
- How many people are working in here?
- About 20%.

- What Quebec highways and Montreal Canadiens have in common?
- Rebuilding.

States/provinces/territories I didn't went in: AB, AK, AL, BC, HI, KS, LA, MB, MN, MS, MT, ND, NL, NT, NU, RI, SD, SK, WA, WI, YT.  Well, I still have some job to do!

Mobility Exchange Table in the Highway 20 Corridor

L'Île-Perrôt, May 23rd, 2018 - The Quebec government announces the creation of the Mobility exchange table in the highway 20 corridor bedtween cities of L'Île-Perrôt and Vaudreuil-Dorion. That committee, where will meet many partners, will ensure a better connection between planning of land development and the sustainable mobility needs.

The Vaudreuil MNA and deputy whip of the government, Mrs. Marie-Claude Nichols, and the Soulanges MNA, minister responsible of Rehabilitation, Youth protection, Public health and Healty lifestyle, and minister responsible of Montérégie region, Mrs. Lucie Charlebois, announced it today in the name of minister of Transports, Sustainable mobility and Transports electriffication, Mr. André Fortin.  For the occasion, they were accompanied by elected representatives of the region who will participate to the table.

A Concrete Approach

While collaborating with the stakeholders involved, the exchange table wants to have the picture of the mobility of that 7-kilometer (about 4.4 miles) stretch located between Galipeault Bridge, east of ÃŽle-Perrôt, and Route 342 (Harwood road) in Vaudreuil-Dorion.  It will specify the transport needs according to the evolution of the spatial planning and the planning of the urban development; define a vision of mobility for this sector; and will provide solutions that can be put in place before the completion of highway 20.

A partnership work

The ministry will work together with many partners, like the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and the cities of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Pincourt, ÃŽle-Perrôt, and Notre-Dame-de-l'ÃŽle-Perrôt.  The Metropolitan transport regional authority and the Metropolitan transport network will also participate, as well as the Vaudreuil and Soulanges MNAs office staff.
