I know Saint John, New Brunswick based Irving Oil has numerous stations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont but how far south in New England have they reached?

When Irving expanded into Maine awhile back, they acquired the Mainway brand then applied it to the Convenience Stores attached to their stations throughout Atlantic Canada as well.

Recently the Convenience Stores here have now been rebranded "Circle K"  when Irving leased the stores to Quebec based Couche-Tard which owns the Circle K brand throughout North America (The pumps are still branded Irving) Are the Irving Mainways in New England now also branded Circle K?

There are Irving stations in Connecticut.

Never heard of "Circle K", though.

They're as far southwest as Stamford, CT now.

Depends on your definition of "recently".  Some of the Irvings in Vermont have been co-branded "Circle K" for at least 3 years now, if not longer.

The one at Hope and Woodway was previously a Texaco station. So, that was the owner switching franchises, not a brand acquisition.

Though, that's fairly out of the way. I'd be impressed if you found it just poking around looking for gas. Where's the one you're thinking of?

There's quite a few Circle K's in the US, actually.

Never heard of Irving Oil, but there are Circle K's all over here.  They took over the Mac's and Bigfoot chains (primarily branded as Shell or Marathon).  Now they've taken over some of the Gas City chain (split between them and Speedway).

Duke:  found it on their website...probably the same one since the website lists an address of 1335 Hope St.

Yup, that's it.

So, that little nondescript station has significance. Who knew?

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.

It's too bad that Bigfoot is gone.  They had an awesome Root Beer.  (both fountain and bottled)  However, Circle K decided not to carry that over.
