10 cities with the worst traffic in the world
QuoteTomTom, a maker of navigation and GPS systems, gathers data from users around the world to create a traffic index that shows congestion in urban areas. The index measures travel times throughout the day and during peak periods and compares them with travel times during non-congested periods. The difference is expressed as a total average percentage increase in travel time. Commuters in Dublin, for example, will spend 35% more time traveling during congested periods. Local roads, arterials and highways are taken into account. All data is based on actual GPS based measurements and for each city the sample size is expressed in total number of measured kilometers for the period.

Wait, that list includes small places like Dublin and Palermo, yet somehow outside of Istanbul doesn't feature any Asian cities like Jakarta, Manila, Shanghai, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur? Seems more like an indicator that Asians don't buy TomToms.

Surprised not to see any Chinese city. I expected Beijing to be in the list.
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

Moscow surprised me at #1 because it does have a very extensive subway system. Rome does not because its public transit is weak and Ancient Roman ruins make it hard for large scale infrastructure projects.

Out of all the places Metro Moscow has the worse Traffic in the world accoding to the article.
