First part of Terre Haute SE bypass (SR 641) opens

The Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports in Wednesday's edition that SR 641 opened Tuesday between US 41/150 and McDaniel Road.

The final two phases of the Indiana 641 bypass – projected to cost $74 million – which includes an upgraded interchange at Interstate 70 and Indiana 46, is slated to be finished near the end of 2014. The current projected cost of the entire bypass is $158 million. The project is being funded through the state's Major Moves highway plan.
