The strange railroad signal are the letters S-T-O-P in red lenses that burn steady while the other lights flash.

As far as the potential Ouachita River bridge:  if it is, he is shooting the picture facing south. Just around the bend would be the Rock Island RR's drawbridge.

There is supposed to be a "lost" State 100 Road somewhere between Bentonville and Bella Vista.

I love those old State Road cutouts. They were long gone by the time I was a kid. Looks like some of them were still around in the 1960s, though, like that one in Mountain View.
