It's not even a total solar eclipse, so not worth driving out of state for it.

I'm already weighing my plans for the big one in 2024. I saw totality from Oregon and it was worth the 8-hour drive home.

If you can't remember the last time you've had a drink, you're either a very light or very heavy drinker.

In Massachusetts, whenever Easter falls on April 21, you get a whole bunch of holidays in a row:

Monday, April 15: Patriots Day
Tuesday, April 16: Tax Day
Wednesday, April 17: Spy Wednesday
Thursday, April 18: Maundy Thursday
Friday, April 19: Good Friday
Saturday, April 20: Weed Day
Sunday, April 21: Easter
Monday, April 22: Earth Day
Tuesday, April 23: If you're lucky, the peak of Lyrids meteor shower (it's usually the 22nd)

How many of these holidays do people actually care about?

At the last company I worked at, Good Friday was a holiday, so the office drones could get three-day weekend. Those who did the actual work would get paid time and a half on Good Friday but nothing on actual Easter Sunday. This never bothered me much because I had Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday off, but if you had, say, Thursday-Friday off, you could be forced to work Easter Sunday and get no benefit out of it other than your usual pay.

4/20 you either care about if you're into that, or you don't. I hear it's like Black Friday for the dispensaries.

It happened in 2019 due to a positive equinoctial bug. That year, Easter Sunday wasn't on Astronomical Easter Sunday like it happens most of the years, the latter happened on March 24.

Well, that was a stupid setup.

(That's your cue to rant about how your former employer had lots of stupid policies and procedures, give yourself a nearly imperceptible evil grin, then remind yourself what a good career move you made.)

My wife and I recently started seeing a therapist together, and when the subject of that job came up (my wife worked there too until January, when they fired her on trumped-up accusations) and we started getting into the things they pulled, the therapist's eyes got really big and she visibly winced at one point. I have a feeling it's going to come up in later sessions.

Plant a cottonwood

Said nobody in Oklahoma, ever.   :spin:

Well, I said it, so someone from Oklahoma has said it. Also, if cottonwood fluff is annoying, poplars are the exact same, just different seed dispersal mechanism.

Or under 21
I don't think being under 21 necessarily prevents someone from having a drink :)

Plus, the minimum age may depend on where you live - when I turned 18, that happened to be the legal age at the time.  And I celebrated with a drink :)

My family aren't big drinkers anyway.

One c-store required me to come in 15 minutes before before my shift (unpaid) to count the cash drawer and stay 15 minutes to count down my drawer (also unpaid).  Someone finally turned him in and he closed 2-3 months later.

Where do fast food restaurants, supermarkets, and elevators get their music? The soundtracks don't have ads or radio call stations, so where do they get them? Do they just pay for a generic adless radio station, or do they have their own playlists on-site?

When I worked for Subway, we had pre-recorded tapes that we would play for particular seasons...Home office whould notify us when it was time to change the music.  Some places subscribe to a satellite music service, either commercial free or in-house advertising. "K-Mart Radio Network".

My understanding is that royalties need to be paid for any music played, so I would assume they subscribe to a paid service which takes care of paying any royalties for the playlists it provides.  At a public place like the ones you mentioned, you can't just stream from the owner's computer/phone - that can get you into hot water.

Muzak is a popular music server for these and the subscription fee includes royalties.

At the casino I worked at, they just played the music channels from DirectTV over the intercom.
