The Most Signed Curve

This does not include all the signage for the 3 different truck break check stops (3rd one has a companion runaway ramp) or the 'lowest gear available' signs or all the signs related to the 9% grade (about 5 miles long).
It would appear a few drivers did not observe any of those warning signs.

Surprised they don't do something like this. Just dig out about 20 feet, put a retaining wall, and use ALL the Big Sandy barrels!!

It seems that several fatalities have occurred here at the end where the road bends sharply to the right; hence the need for those previous warning signs!

Another thing they could have done was just put in an all-way stop at the intersection.  There is an intersection here and the curve is sharp enough that it might as well be treated as a turn.

I guess it does appear to be a downhill, but signing that from 4.5 miles seems a bit excessive. Also odd that the warning signs further out are larger "big yellow signs" but the ones closest to the curve are traditionally styled and sized warning signs.

Yes, I've seen them numerous places, they have also installed a number on VA I-81 specifically in an effort to enhance safety.

Yep. I've noticed them in my county on some fast FM roads in at least 2 different spots. Sadly GSV isn't updated yet.

Williams Lake Rd next to Oakland County International Airport in Waterford Township, Michigan has illuminated chevrons in both directions of travel. These signs flash in a sequential pattern in the direction of the curve.

The curve is at the bottom of a 10-mile long grade with a 2000-foot drop in elevation. The lower several miles are signed for a 9% grade. The road used to get log trucks for the paper mill in Luke. There is a 10mph truck speed limit on the grade along with three mandatory truck stops and an emergency escape ramp due to its history, and there are signs along I-68 recommending truck traffic use MD 36 instead of MD 135 to access Luke.

If you're a heavily loaded truck and get to the bottom of the hill going too fast, it's too late. You're not going to be able to slow down in time. All those curve warning signs uphill are to drive home that trucks need to keep their speed under control on the hill to avoid becoming another fatality.

Making the intersection with MD 135 and Savage River Road at the bottom of the hill an all-way stop isn't going to do anything. The curve by itself isn't really the problem, other than for the fact it means that out-of-control trucks don't have any opportunity to recover. Making vehicles come to a stop at the bottom of a long grade like this would likely make things more dangerous, not safer, from rear-end crashes.
